"Lovely place to stay right by the harbour. The downside was outside which needed a good clean. There was a table outside but no chairs. "

"Clean and spacious for us (couple in late 20s). Good kitchen and cooking space with all utensils provided. The beds were comfy too. The sofas were leather and not very comfortable but we tried to be out and about as much as we could. No towels were provided Because of covid so we had to buy some as all of the information said they would be supplied and we didn’t bring any."

"No breakfast, no bar, no food or drink at all. No staff on site, No heating in morning, 4c in room !!! Window full of condensation, Kettle wouldn’t fit in sink to fill up."

"Sue and Mike were the perfect hosts from the minute we stepped into their amazing home Our room was so comfortable and cosy and we had everything we needed for a perfect stay In the morning we had a wonderful breakfast prepared by Mike and we all had a good chat over the breakfast table Nothing was too much trouble for Sue and Mike and I’m so excited to be going back in a few weeks See you soon x"

"The cottage is spacious, with a big kitchen and cosy lounge. There are lots of bed options and towels provided. Unfortunately, very basic items like cloths (for cleaning surfaces), dishwasher tablets, and teatowels are not provided, making it difficult to keep everything clean during the stay. In addition, the heating is inadequate, with the thermostat only on at fixed times and the space quickly getting cold again. "Lion Hotel has everything we required for our weeks stay. An excellent varied evening menu offering choices of both Indian and English dishes. The buffet breakfast offered all the usual fair which the staff constantly kept topped up. Our double room was spacious with clean en-suite facilities. All the hotel staff were pleasant and willing to help you in anyway they could. The bottom line is, yes we would be happy to stay at The Lion Hotel again."

"Hotel is in a good location, ample parking. It's a stately building fairly well maintained, though the elevator access on floor 1 is hindered by the carpeting that restricts the door from opening. Yes you have to manually open the door to access the 50 + year old elevator and make sure it doesnt swallow any body part when the door closes, very cool. The food in the attached restaurant/ pub was good, though the service was hindered by only 1 person doing everything, hotel check in and restaurant...
