Nice to wake up with sea

Nice at front of beach, very old building , needs a lot of work inside , decor , new floor throughout , tv didn’t work , me and partner went for a night away and we laid in bed watching the waves which is what we wanted

Nice hotel close to the Beach

Nice hotel, good size of the bedroom and bathroom. Maybe condition is not so good but is very clean and friendly Staff. Definetelly I will recomend hotel to my friends and visited another time.

Nice hotel close to the beach.

The hotel suited all my needs! The Marlborough hotel was in an ideal location and it was a very comfortable stay! The food was great! The room and bathroom were very clean, and it was a pleasure to stay there!

In need of renovation ,, bed / mattress was old and uncomfortable although sheets were spotlessly clean. Bathroom was in need of renovation but was clean. Curtains were torn, Door to room seemed flimsy and loose

Old fashioned in need of repair

Reception more interested talking on mobile than acknowledging arrival.Needs recarpeting and decorating throughout. Very difficult to find room, they explained very quickly but so many doors archways got a little confused. At least had a look near the kitchens , not to bad but wouldn't eat there. Very noisy clientele as they walked to their rooms at night. Old fashioned furniture. Paint where peeled in bathroom just painted over. Bed was comfortable and clean white bedding. Glad was only very short stay. No staff at reception when left so could not book out, just left key as knew had paid. Nice seating area conservatory overlooking the sea but noisy clientele in bar next door that looked a bit 'rough' so didn't feel ok to sit there of an evening.

Convenience is its main asset

Aside from being woken up by the seagulls at 4:00 AM (which I realise is out of the hotel's control), the breakfast, which was not included in the over-priced room cost, was the main problem. We asked for tea, and were given a huge, full teapot with one bag in it. When we asked for a second bag, we were almost done with breakfast by the time we actually got it. The food itself was not particularly good either, as the bacon was covered with a residue, and the toast was cold by the time it reached our table. My partner is gluten-free, and the kitchen had nothing to accommodate, almost unheard of in this day and age. Our room was not particularly spacious, either.

A one night stay at the Marlborough, Felixstowe

Checking in was prompt and friendly and the location was right on the sea front. My room was at the rear of the hotel (so no views) and was very basic but clean. I was a little disappointed as there was a sink in the room and you had to step down into the "on suite" where the bath (with shower overhead) was located. The room was sad looking, but it had taken over five and half hours of driving to reach the hotel and I was too tired to go elsewhere. I aye at the attached pub which had a restricted menu (Due to a busy weekend) and I didn't realy enjoy that so I didn't try the breakfast next day. Needless to say I will not be returning. However, the hotel was clean and I suppose I got what I paid for.

Never again

Wrong postcode both on website and on confirmation booking staff didn't care about that carpet in room wet beds hard and thumpy ceiling in dining are falling down in parts breakfast burnt no jam for toast

Good value for money compensates for poor decor

The hotel is old and run down (peeling wallpaper, old furniture) but is perfectly adequate for the low price that we paid. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable, but the shower, tho' adequate used little water. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food and service in the restaurant were very good. The lift does not go up to the top floor which must be accessed by a narrow staircase with an awkward fire door and no handrail; not great for carry luggage or for the infirm. The excellent sea view and central seafront location compensate for the downsides to this hotel. We would stay there again.

Felixstowe Sea Front Hotel

I booked in for a weekend activity at the Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club and received a very nice welcome and offered a room upgrade. The room was nicely arranged with ensuite and plenty of room, plus a nice bed and a nice TV. It was a short walk to Felixstowe town, across the road to the beech and very close to the new peer. A very nice stay.

When we arrived the room was cold and damp, barren of any amenities and a door you wouldn't have on a dorm room. We left and couldn't get a refund. We didn't even care as it was such a dump. No cook so restaurant was not serving lunch and lounge was not open.

Needs Care And Attention

Such a shame but a new branded hotel has opened up and offers a different experience with all mod-cons and there are holiday properties nearby. I was ok with the room and stayed there before in other rooms but very hot and stuffy. TV was very small. They advertise free wifi, which I needed, but it rarely works. I could not use the shower or bath as water was so hot and the cold tap was broken. When I mentioned this on check out the receptionists just shrugged his shoulders and said they would look at this, but this to me looked long-term and would have thought they would known about it when cleaning the rooms. Not bad value if you can put up with this general lack of attention.

Best Hotel

This is a wonderful old hotel. The management were wonderful expecially Anant Sing one of the owners. He couldn't have been more nice or helpful. The pub attached was great and people very friendly. We would certainly stay at the Marlborough again when visiting my aunty in Felixstowe. If your looking for a new modern hotel don't stay here but if you want a nice clean hotel with nice people this is the place to stay. Good food in the restaurant, the feeling of history this is it. Thanks to Anant for all your consideration and kindness. Your dad and brother Anoop couldn't have been nicer.

Close to the beach but very outdated

I was very disappointed with everything no internet , we had no lights upstairs due to power cut , narrow stairs no lift , roof very low for me as i am only 5ft 9 .waited 15mins at the reception for checking in .i paid good money for the room i expected a better room
