"Really lovely hotel with great views. Breakfast a real treat. Rooms are a very generous size and a sea view is beautiful. Don’t like the policy of authorising £150 on your bank card on check in. Not released for 5 to 10 days is not acceptable."

"We had a very comfortable stay at the hotel and were impressed with the facilities and friendly staff. We returned for the 2nd time having also enjoyed our first stay. Love the views of Torbay and the internal architecture and furnishings of the hotel. It was a shame that the outdoor pool was closed but enjoyed the indoor pool / spa facilities."

"Arrived and greeted by the most incredibly kind staff. They really couldnt have given us any more to make us feel welcome. Want to give a huge thanks to Robin on reception. My husband has a neck injury and the staff even offered to get pain medications from the local Pharmacist for us. The food in 1881 resturant within the grand hotel was delicious and served by Felix. What a kind gentleman he was also. Even making my young boy happy by giving him free mocktails! Both inside and outsoor pools...

"Our room 172 was clean, spacious and included an en-suite walk in shower. Breakfast included English style cooked , yogurt & berries, cereals, fruits, toast with all jams, marmite and honey. mini pastries were also available. We ate in the dining room and from the bar menus. Staff were very professional, kind and gave service with a smile. To note Mel from the Spa was fantastic, we had x2 full hour treatments each "

"A wonderful hotel across the road from the beach. Check in was very easy, the gentleman was happy and informative. The room had everything we needed including a fan, clean, well kept and beautifully simple. Very quiet at night, with a comfortable bed, breakfast was brilliant with multiple choices, cooked quickly and the chef was great. The garden was great especially in the evenings and the bar was reasonably priced. All the staff we met were happy to chat or recommend a place to go. Check out...
