"We enjoyed our stay at the Royal Hotel. The location right on the seafront made it easy to enjoy walks and the views, and the staff were welcoming throughout our visit. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the hearty breakfast set us up well for the day. The hotel has a classic seaside charm, and it provided a pleasant base for exploring Whitley Bay and the surrounding area. Overall, it was a very good experience and we would be happy to stay again. "

"It is a quirky place. Looks very plain from the front but was a lovely place to stay. Great service from arrival to departure. Food was superb. After checking out we were on our way to Sunderland when we realised we hadn't tipped the staff so, we turned back and did so. That's how good it was. Will definitely return."

"This review considers the amazingly low price we paid (£40), compared to other availability in the area. We requested (and booked) a family room, on arrival, we were given two double rooms opposite each other. Not a problem for our 1 night stay, but it could have been. "Had a lovely relaxing time with my girlfriend and her husband, room was so clean and had everything we needed, absolutely loved being able to log into Netflix on the tv which was a great size. We were checked in by a lovely young man who also served us our food, he was very attentive and even brought us extra sides for our burgers.
