When you stay Cheat River Lodge's RHODODENDRON CABIN, rest assured you will satisfy your affinity for water as you can fish from the hot tub!. This a historic log cabin is RIVERFRONT. Built in the early 1900s, the one thing that has not changed is its majestic RIVERFRONT view of the Cheat River. Like generations past, you can sit on the furnished, screened porch and watch the river roll by, or try your luck at catching supper.. Adjacent to the Monongahela National Forest. Hot tub. Pet friendly. Nearby dining & shopping

Nothing better exists for those needing access for fishing, kayaking, and tubing. as its at your front door. It's a quick 10 minute drive to the Greenbrier-Durbin scenic train depot in Elkins. Hike & X-County ski the Monongahela National Forest. 23 miles to downhill skiing.

As a guest with CHEAT RIVER LODGE properties, you will benefit by our 40 years in the hospitality industry. We are NOT a remote property management company. For those who just want to kick back and be with family and friends, the covered screened porch offers a wonderful spot to view the river, rain or shine.

The personalized linens, and attractive dƩcor add a special touch to make the Rhododendron unique, and one of a kind. Two bedrooms on the main floor have a queen bed, and the loft has a set of twins. The kitchen is fully equipped with all of the essentials, to include dinnerware that matches the dƩcor. Remodeled to provide all of the modern appointments you would expect to find in a charming mountain getaway, it includes forced air heat, air conditioning, cable TV. Additional fans, a charcoal barbecue grill, and picnic table are provided.

Because of its close proximity to the water, the Rhododendron is not the best choice for young children, or toddlers.

Stayed at the Rhodie with my wife and dog. Cabin was gorgeous. Right on the river. Quiet getaway. The cabin was incredibly clean, hot tub was clean and well maintained. The area was beutiful. Stuart rec area is a five minute drive. Town of Elkins is 10 minutesā€¦itā€™s a quaint town with everything you need. Within 40 minutes we hit Seneca Rock and Blackwater Falls. GREAT EXPERIENCE. Hope to get back some day

My boyfriend and I were looking for a close to home weekend getaway and came upon this listing for cabins in Elkins, WV. We liked that it was just a couple of hours from home but was still kinda off the grid. We couldnā€™t be more pleased with the cleanliness of the cabin. It had everything we needed and the screened in porch and hot tub was our haven. Thank you for such a great place to stay and relax. Next time we will be bringing our fishing poles.

We had a lovely long weekend at the Rhododendron cabin. Plenty of room for the two of us. Every thing was very clean and warm. The hot tub was delightful. We had a little trouble with the WiFi, but Roxye was extremely helpful in getting it up and running. We would definitely go back again, maybe in the summer, when we would enjoy the gorgeous scenery from the delightful screened in porch.

Place was beautiful, right in the river. Loved the screen porch. We received a lot of instructions after we booked; would have been better to get those up front. But they werenā€™t unreasonable asks, so it was fine.

This place is just what my daughter (14yrs) and I needed for a relaxing getaway. I'm always hesitant about booking new places, but I'm so glad I booked this one. This is definitely an old bones cabin, which is exactly what we wanted. We didn't want to stay in a newer house that is called a cabin. We loved how cozy and full of old, rustic character the cabin is. We even loved the "uneven" floors. While one bed downstairs was definitely firm, the other bed was much softer and perfect for me. The couches are leather, clean, and comfortable. It was stocked with everything that is listed in the description. We found the manager, Roxye, to be responsive and accessible. A staff member came by daily to check the hot tub, see if we needed anything, and remove the outside trash. Checking in and out was a breeze. The cabin's location is excellent. It is 30 minutes to a hour away from all the things we wanted to do; Blackwater Falls, Seneca Rocks, and Snowshoe Mountain. Bickle Knob is 5 minutes away from the cabin and is a beautiful drive up to the observation tower. Being from Florida, the freezing temperatures (17Ā°F - 35Ā°F) were a wonderful change. We even had a little snow. We would definitely like to come back in the summer to enjoy the river. The only thing I can "complain" about is the bathroom vanity drawers. The inside of them needed to be cleaned better. There was quite a bit of hair in them. This isn't enough to give less than 5 stars in cleanliness. Everything else was perfect. If you are looking for a true cabin getaway, I highly recommend this place! Thanks to Roxye and Staff for making our stay perfect. We will be back!

All was calm and peaceful. Staff very helpful and nice. Too bad the fish took the week off and Iā€™m not a river fisherman. Not the lodges problem. Would go again.

The cabin was literally on top of the Cheats River. Although there was only two of us, the cabin would comfortably sleep 6. The only unpleasant experience was related to the volume of disinfectant used to clean the property. The smell was overwhelming the first night but it cleared out the following morning and the rest of our stay was perfect. I guess clean is good in today's world of Covid. Thoroughly enjoyed are stay!

The house was very clean. Stocked with lots of towels and the gas fire place was very nice. Access to the river was just like the picture showed. The street was quite. House keeping was daily and friendly. Great get away.

The river was breathtaking as to the views but the management was poor ad states hot tub serviced daily. In 5 days only happened once. Checklist for linens was useless only received new towels once. The house was dirty clumps of hair everywhere. There was even hair stuck to ceiling in bathroom. Bathroom door didnā€™t shut at all. Just poor management in my opinion.

My friends and I went there for a relaxing weekend trip, and the hot tub was amazing and the view was great. Everything was clean and when we had an issue with the wifi they helped us out right away. Recommend!

Cabin was very nice and clean, great location,staff very friendly, the only thing we didnā€™t care for were the mattresses they were very,very firm , some prefer firm lol we prefer softer mattresses we woke up stiff lol. I would recommend and have recommended the cabin to others. Thank you for a nice ,peaceful mini vacation it was very relaxing. Oh and we loved the river I caught a brown trout right from the porch lol
