The grounds are beautifully maintained, full of native plants and wildlife—we even saw a sloth in the garden on our last day. The main guest space is a glass enclosure surrounded by lush landscaping; it’s especially peaceful during rainstorms.Eduardo, a Costa Rica native, is incredibly knowledgeable about the area....

"This place was way up in the Pinilla Highlands but such a cool little spot. The pool had leaves in ot due to the winds but was very clean unlike some places we have stayed. The host was very responsive and the property was very clean and comfortable. Wonderful little getaway. You could also see the howler money when you walked to the pool. The road getting to this little gem was a bit rough so you need a 4x4 vehicle for sure. Really close to Avellanas beach area and restaurants. A big plus!"

"Cozy and well-located stay with a prime view of Parque Francia. The apartment was a bit smaller than expected but had everything I needed—including a well-equipped kitchen, perfect if you feel like cooking (though you're surrounded by great restaurants). Walking distance to the Museo Nacional, Avenida Central, and Avenida 33 made exploring the city easy, and I felt safe walking alone at night thanks to visible police presence in the area. The building felt secure, and the staff were friendly....

"Lovely casita on unique, secure, private, beautiful grounds in the mountains north of San Jose. Eduardo and Betty made our first visit to Costa Rica amazingly special! They have become wonderful friends and I’m certain that we’ll stay in touch. "

"First Shayna was quick to respond and so we choose to stay a night on our way from the Caribbean side to the Pacific side. We arrived at Vista de Paz late afternoon and were greeted by a very nice gentleman, Guillermo. He showed us around the home and then the grounds. Before leaving for the evening made sure we had a fire going and we had enough firewood. Due to all the traveling I had requested a cook for the evening. "Wow this place was HUGE!!! This is a mansion near downtown. There ere like 8 beds at least, a giant courtyard inside, everything was clean and the host got the property ready in one day after our previous reservation did not give us check in information in time and I had to book somewhere else. They had it ready so quickly and Ms Cruz was so nice when we arrived. Don’t miss on this place. The only downside is there is no AC, but we didn’t get too hot at night. Maybe adding screens for the doors...
