CHAPPY BUTTERFLY COTTAGE is a cozy non-posh two bedroom guesthouse with an additional sleeper sofa on the private Meadowsweet compound. Bicycles or a car required, all wheel drive or 4wd preferred. The cottage is ideally situated on the Cross Chappy Trail in the heart of this sought after “separate island.” Ten minutes by car or mountain bike from the elegant village of Edgartown on Martha’s Vineyard, the cottage offers guests the best of island options: multiple beaches in all directions, walking and mountain bike trails just steps from the front porch and in-town boutique amenities only ten minutes away! Our site is off the beaten path and is not a pedestrian location; guests must have wheels!

The bedrooms are snug: one with a queen bed and another with a double. There is an additional queen sleeper sofa in the living area. The cottage has electric heat, air conditioning, a full galley kitchen with gas stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. The cathedral ceiling with fan as well as sliders to the ample screened porch make the space comfortable for two couples or a small family. There is a pergola with table and grill shared with the main house. Guests may also use the outdoor shower attached to the main house.

The cottage is oriented away from the main house to maximize privacy. Sheets and towels are provided. Guests must have their own wheels! The main house and cottage are only available together as a compound in July and August. The Main house and cozy guest house are available separately during the shoulder seasons of May, June, September and October.
