Peaceful getaway
We enjoyed quiet and comfort while we read, took walks, watched birds at the feeder, worked puzzles, watched a couple of movies, and cooked both inside and on the grill. This has become a favorite getaway spot for us!

Great place-great hosts
We were there for a wedding that was taking place on the property. What a great destination place for an event! Several properties together (but also far enough apart) that could be used by the same group. The shared space of the Party Barn has a pool table, karaoke or can be a place to just sit and watch the sun set. Hosts were simply the best! They made sure everything was perfect!

This little house on the Lake is pretty much indescribable and one of the most enjoyable properties we have ever visited. The owners run a class act operation that is second to none.

Quiet retreat
This was the perfect place for resting and relaxing. It was so charming. We enjoyed watching all the birds at the feeder from the back porch. There were so many different kinds, it was just a tranquil weekend. Dale was very kind he came to check in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. I would recommend to anyone who's looking to get away and find some peace and quiet.

Beautiful - Amazing
Looking for a place to get away and still be on the lake this is your place. It is relaxing, peaceful, beautiful, fun and the hosts are both amazing!! We were in communication the whole time one on one with them they waited up for us. We arrived late and still received perfect greetings and a tour. We know the area because of family living there but this is the first time we stayed with Vanessa & Steve! And we will never stay anywhere else if we can help it!! We will return many many more times. So much fun and still relaxing!!

Came for the solitude, will be back for the experience!
What can I say? If you are looking for a beautiful, quiet place to relax with your family, this is the place. If you are looking for a girlfriends' weekend getaway, cozy and secluded, with nearby wineries included, this is the place. If you are looking for a venue to host a big family reunion and need lots of beds, bathrooms and entertainment, this is the place, too! Like fishing, karaoke, shooting pool, reading a book and watching amazing sunsets, too? This is the place. Do you think you've met amazing hosts before? Well, hang on. Have you met Steve and Vanessa, yet? They are amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable, had everything we needed before and during stay, and made sure our girls were also involved. We surely hope to be back!

A Little Piece of Paradise
Rustic charm with all of the conveniences of home! From the moment we walked in we knew we had found a perfect place to relax and rejuvenate! The back porch offered a cozy place to enjoy the wildlife, and the dock that was just a short walk around the corner offered serenity and a view of the sunset. It was an amazing place to spend time with my best friend, and we really enjoyed meeting Steve and Vanessa. They made us feel right at home, and we enjoyed visiting with them throughout our stay. If you are looking for a quiet, cozy place away I highly recommend this location! Thank you Steve and Vanessa for making this a place that we look forward to returning to!

Wonderful cozy weekend
The cottage is charming and very comfortable. Our hosts Steve and Vanessa clearly built it with love. The red cedar in the house is gorgeous. The kitchen is outfitted really well and super clean, one of the best we’ve been in. The rewired country stove is charming, quirky but totally functional. The location is beautiful and private. Best of all, our hosts are most hospitable and kind!

A great Heavenly getaway
What can I say, when we got here to this beautiful place we had everything ready for us. Dinner was ready, the room was set and the property manager Steve was waiting for us even though we were running late and gave us a quick tour of the place to settle in. Thank you Steve and Vannessa!

Truly a-lure-ing
My hosts met me outside and gave me the tour, explaining everything and were very attentive during my stay yet gave me the privacy I was looking for. The cabin is secluded , yet easy access. You would think you are deep in the woods. A short walk to the lake presented a nice dock for watching the sun set and feeding the fish & turtles. The "party barn" looked like a hoot for those with groups, complete with karaoke! I was SO VERY comfortable in my cabin and mostly hung out on the back porch, watching the birds and listening to the crickets at night. I would definitely escape here again!!

Hidden gem!
Hidden gem for sure...Had a wonderful time. Pictures don't do the cottage justice. Beautiful scenery& rustc decor. Steve &Vanessa are not only great hosts, great& fun ppl ! Really enjoyed visiting and sharing laughter with them. From meeting Dale to Mr. David we had many wonderful suprises during our stay! Can't wait to come back!

Absolutely a great experience for me and my husband
I truly believe I can't say enough about this place my experience here was awesome everything I needed was right at reach didnt have to go out for anything! I came here knowing little about fishing and now I can honestly say I am a Fisher woman lol I'm already making plans for next month cant wait to come back also Steve was a great host.... I’m hooked!
This is the best vrbo property ever. I have stayed here at least 6 times. We had my 50th birthday party here at the first of August. Steve and Vanessa are the absolute best hosts ever. Anything we need , they are right on top of it. They treat us like family. They are always around if you need anything, but they also give you your privacy. There is plenty of room. We had a total of 10 people and we were all comfortable. We rented the big house for all the adults and rented the smaller house for our teenage kids. The fishing there is great! I always go home with lots of fish. They pretty much have their own little private cove and a nice big dock to fish from. I can anywhere in Texas, but I always keep going back to Allure.

Another Great Weekend!
This was my second trip to visit Allure on Lake Leon to fish a local bass club tournament. However, this time I got to bring my family to this amazing property. I had been bragging to them for a year about Allure and I can confidently say that Steve and Vanessa did not let me down! I can't say enough about their hospitality and the amenities they provide to their guests. We enjoyed fishing, grilling out, swimming at the dock, and most of all the karaoke night! We can't wait to visit again in the near future! - Ben

Peaceful Retreat
This was a perfect house and location for relaxing on the porch, looking out over the wooded ravine and watching the birds at the feeder. The house is well equipped for cooking and entertainment and is very spacious. Having access to the owners' other properties and amenities was nice as well. We enjoyed fishing in the pond and at the lake.

Away from everything getaway
This rental was very unique and had all of the amenities you can possibly imagine. Quiet area and great owners! They actually visit with their renters and make sure they have a good time. I would recommend for sure. I loved feeding the fish and paddle boating and the evening kareoke.

Looney wedding
WOW, this place is fabulous! We got married there and the weather wasn't cooperating, (it was supposed to be a lakeside wedding), but no fear, Vanessa, Dale and Steve helped us move it indoors. They made the transition so smooth for us. The cabins were big, nice and clean. You don't have to take anything with you except for your clothes and food. The party barn at first site looks to be small but it accommodated 70 of us for the wedding, reception and dancing. Vanessa, Steve and Dale helped us make this an experience that we definitely will remember forever and we will definitely be back. We highly recommend this place!

Just Perfect!
We wanted something quiet and away from it all and was not disappointed. The cabin was perfect and was well stocked. The owners were very easy to work with and very accommodating. We asked for an early checkin which was provided without hesitation. We highly recommend staying with Allure in addition would consider staying again ourselves when in the area.

This little house near lake Leon is perfect in every aspect. It is very comfortable, well equipped, and in the perfect location to kick back and relax. The owners showed great pride in providing us with a great experience during our short stay while in the area.

We're Hooked
Steve and Vannessa have created a little place in paradise. The cabin layout is perfect and it felt like a home away from home. The cabin was beautiful in every way and had everything you could possibly need. Relaxing on the back porch then watching a beautiful sunset over the lake was just what we needed. We're already talking about booking again for our next getaway.

Favorite family time
This was our second visit. Once again, we were blown away. We love staying here. It’s so very peaceful. Steve and Vanessa truly are amazing people. We didn’t want to leave, not only because of our great experience but also because we really enjoy them both. They are so very kind to our daughter who is five. Great place to spend time with your family and friends. Owners Steve and Venessa are awesome couples, they are very friendly, treated us like their family members. Steve arranged for a party night where we had lot of delicious food besides fresh Cat fish captured from the lake. Don’t miss Sunset view !! Will visit this place again this summer.

Ideal Reunion Spot
As the years have passed it has grown more and more difficult for me and my sisters and our respective spouses and families to find time for a long, relaxing weekend together. It's always special when those get-togethers finally happen, but even more so when we find a setting as special as Allure. Having grown up in nearby Eastland I've long been familiar with Lake Leon and spent many hours there with friends and family. However I don't believe I've ever had as relaxing a time in as beautiful a spot on the lake.as we did on the weekend of March 8-10. The main and guest houses and the party barn all are located in a prime spot right on the lake along a quiet, little-traveled road. We spent most of our time in the incredibly spacious, well supplied main house and barn. However the sleeping quarters also were comfortable and nicely furnished - perfect places to relax after a day of enjoying each other's company in the house, on the deck overlooking the lake. I also should mention the dock, where I spent the beginning and end of both days watching ducks, herons, egrets and other water birds skimming over the water. Birders will also be delighted by the profusion of other songbirds on the property. When mealtimes come around you'll find the large gas grill a great way to cook for the whole family. And with two tables in the house and one on the deck there's plenty of room for everyone to sit. If you want even more space the party barn is a great for meals, conversation, games (a dart board is available) or many other uses. Owner-hosts Steve and his wife also can arrange for water sports equipment when you feel like experiencing the lake more directly. If you're looking for a quiet, rural environment that is beautiful, well designed and run by hosts who go out of their way to make your stay memorable - all for an incredibly reasonable rate - Allure deserves your serious consideration.

Living here, we don't always take in the beauty and the joys of being here. Your review made me stop and realize just how lucky we are, not only do we get to enjoy those things, we also have the opportunity to meet new families and make new friends. Very relaxing, peaceful and great for our little family!
My husband and I were so impressed by everything! The property is even more beautiful than the pictures show. Steve and Vanessa were so welcoming to our little family. It was my husband, my 5 year old daughter and myself. The cabin we stayed in had everything we needed. We just brought groceries and an open mind that this property would be wonderful. At the time, there were not any reviews for the cabin we stayed in, thankfully I went with my gut and booked it anyway. We stayed for 3 nights and would have loved to stay longer if my daughter didn’t have to be back at school. The cabin had so many extra touches. We could stay inside and relax, sit on the back porch or even go down to the dock. The sunsets are beyond beautiful! I took pictures every night and each night gave a different view but all 3 nights equally as beautiful. The catfish swam right up to the dock which my daughter LOVED. They have a great area called The party barn that has a place to play games, listen to music or even just chat. I would say this is a perfect family reunion or friend get together location. Steve and Vanessa gave us the perfect amount of privacy, yet were always available and there at the perfect time. They both left a great impression not only on us but our daughter who wasn’t quiet ready to leave. Steve suggested for us to visit Mae’s which is a restaurant but it also has a butcher shop inside. One day we went there for dinner and then bought wonder hamburger meat and bacon for the following day. I just can’t say enough good things about not only this cabin but all the cabins, the property and once again Steve and Vanessa. I know I have made sure to tell all my friends and family about our experience, shared their business cards, the website and also all the many pictures I took. One last thing, I personally think this is the best location. It is so centrally located! We only drove 2 hours to get there which is perfect with a kiddo. Everywhere from Wichita Falls, Dallas, Midland, San Angelo, Abilene and many other locations are all within an easy drive that doesn’t take a whole day away. I hope this review helps anyone who may be on the fence. Don’t hesitate, just book any of the cabins! As for us, we will be back as soon as we can and will likely try out the large house! Thank you Steve and Vanessa for great memories for our family. I would love to bring my parents and grandparents next time. 💜
