"Have stayed in 4 hotels and B&B’s in Eastbourne and this is by far and away the best one I’ve stayed in. Victorian features, stain glass windows combined with a modern style. Breakfast choices were eggcelent with proper sausages and bacon, the “house” scrambled eggs was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was a bonus as that area of Eastbourne can be tricky to find spaces to park at night. Would definitely stay at The New England again."

"Incredible location across from the beach. Room was spacious and had a view of the beach and the pier. These older buildings don’t have AC but a fan was provided as was a small portable fridge. We didn’t try the bar or restaurant so we can’t rate those. We forgot some important items in our room on checkout and the staff were amazing. They contacted us right away when they found the items and offered to have a staff member deliver them to us. Really helpful."

"First room was unusable due to extreme noise all night, and I only got moved the next day after reporting it. The first night was therefore effectively lost and no refund was given. Also concerning: the hotel took full credit card details, including the security code (CVV), and wrote them down on a piece of paper, which is unsafe practice. "We knowingly booked a small room. The room itself was clean and decent enough. It was an extremely hot day so could have done with A/C or at least a better fan than that provided. The bathroom was too tiny to be practical. There was no shelf in the tiny shower and there was not enough room to bend down and pick shower gel off the floor. Overall the price was very reasonable so we were not expecting the world. Staff were friendly, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable."

"The staff were amazing from the front desk Darcy and mum to the night porter, who could not do enough for us brilliant. Would recommend to all ages and jealous that we’re not still there. Carnival was great; only thing is if you’re down for this event next year, find parking first early, as it’s at a premiere. Massive shout out again to all. 👍😘"

"I booked this B&B near the sea front for my elderly parents. They were given a fabulously spacious room, they thoroughly enjoyed their stay there. "I don’t recommend this hotel. Its only positive qualitiy is location. The first room we were given (3rd floor, lift out of order) smelt of stale tobacco smoke (despite 'no smoking' signs). We asked to change. The next room had an unwashed bathroom floor. The 3rd was small but we took it because it was cleaner and had a better view. "We have stayed at this hotel several times before. It’s a great location in Eastbourne. The bed was clean and fresh and the breakfast very tasty. However, it is very tired. Our room was very disappointing- damp on the ceiling, one light fitting in the en-suite was hanging out of the ceiling and 2 other down lighting bulbs did not work. There was no heating in the room and it was needed. Also, there was no BBC on the very small and inefficient TV."
