"Had to find parking a couple of streets away. Clean room and bathroom. TV was annoying to operate and poor sound. Plenty of teabags etc in the room, something that many places are stingy with. Breakfast was fab. Only one choice, full breakfast, but it was really good. Huge pot of coffee. Very happy with my stay. "

"An old-fashioned hotel in an old building but there's nothing wrong with that - it has character, unlike a lot of modern anodyne ones. Service was exceptional: accommodating and friendly. It is located dead in the centre of the old town and is ideally placed for exploring it (and for staggering back from the pubs!). It also has a well regarded Thai restaurant on the ground floor, so no need to go far if you don't want to. There is free parking at the back. I would certainly stay again if I was...

"We stayed for 1 night at this gem of a place! We arrived quite late but managed to get into the restaurant just before they finished serving. The food was outstanding! Not an extensive menu. A few pub classics such as fish and chips. I had an open fish pie which was delicious. We had breakfast the next morning which was equally as good. We did say it was a shame we didnt live nearer as we'd definitely return for a meal. The rooms were recently modernised we were told and were lovely! A good...
