"Room was large and well cleaned, it came with a sticked kitchenette. The hotel has a nice restaurant in site with outdoor seating overlooking the French Broad River. The hotel was like a museum for the original jail with information on display. The room we stayed in had several original features of the old jail."

"I arrived late from a concert at Clemson and was told that I was considered a no-show, and my room was no longer available. Then told that they were full. However, the manager disappeared and told me to wait. Upon his return, he told me that he had put clean linens on the bed in a dirty room and I could sleep there. I was so tired that I couldn't drive anymore, so I went to that room and slept for 4 hours. And it was, indeed, dirty. So, I spent $200.00 to sleep in a dirty room for 4 hours...

"There are several things that need improvement at this lodge. Upon arrival we were not treated in a friendly manner. He acted like we were interfering with his time when we arrived. We arrived early and he said it would be a $35.00 extra charge for early check in . So we left and looked for something to do until our check in time.
