Fabulous Getaway!
We had an amazing time at Tom and Celeste's cottage - description and pictures are spot on, and the property is a peaceful respite after a long day. This property gets 5 star reviews for a reason - we hope to be back again in the near future!

Beautiful place
We had a great time staying in the cottage. It’s cozy, clean, and has everything you need for two people. But the highlight of this property is the location, right on peaceful Mill Pond. There are Adirondack chairs,a fire-pit, and a picnic table next to the lake that guests can use to relax or eat by the water. The host, Tom, was kind and responsive. Highly recommended base for a Maine vacation.

Time for R&R
Wanting a place that was located conveniently and quiet, I found this listing and knew it would be a good fit. The cottage has a wonderful view of the Mill Pond, a special place I always visit when I'm in Maine....Ocean Point is just down the road too! Bed was very comfy, the kitchen had everything I needed although I really didn't cook there because I had to visit all my favorite local restaurants and chow down on Maine lobster! The only drawback was the patio doors which did not lock properly but I understand that's on the off season list. The owners were welcoming and helpful. I'd definitely consider the cottage for my next visit home.

Delightful Cottage
The owners were friendly and responsive to questions. The cottage was a delightful! It was very clean and nicely decorated. The owners had unlocked the door and opened a few windows and even had fresh flowers on the table. Very sweet & welcoming owners and cottage! Highly Recommend! Linda

Lovely and peaceful
It was pretty much as described . Well situated and easy access to the area ( markets, restaurants , tourist sights ). The space was wel arranged and the bed was quite comfortable . Kitchen had most of what One would need and we cooked in all but one night. Lots of creatures came to visit us and it was so calm and peaceful . Exactly what we wanted .

A little haven
Loved the proximity to Boothbay Harbor, Midcoast Maine, & points south. Mostly loved returning to this idyllic setting on Mill Pond after a day of exploring. A glass of wine surrounded by nature's tranquility was good for the soul. My only suggestion: It would be nice if some basic pantry items were provided, like salt & pepper, a few condiments, butter, etc. But we very much enjoyed our stay and have already recommended the cottage to friends.

Just what we needed
This was a beautiful place! We rented this location thinking it would be a great central hime base for places we wanted to go (and it was). We spent much more time at the property than we had planned because it was so peaceful and so much ch fun to watch the birds and other wildlife ( huge, fat porcupine!) around the mill pond. The cottage itself was sparkling clean and comfortable. We have food allergies so it was nice to be able to cook simple meals in the kitchen. (We also had an excellent dinner down there road at The Carriage House where they took our allergies seriously. ) There was a miscommunication about check in and out times but Sally and Lindsay from the property management company were fantastic to work with and everything turned out okay. 9 am is an early check out time! We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

Thanks for your visit and nice review. We've been seeing the porcupine too along with the deer and turkeys that travel across the property by the pond almost daily.

Lovely place to enjoy Boothbay
Exactly as advertised. Very nice view to Mill Pond. Close access to Boothbay Harbor and Ocean Point. Quiet, clean, relaxing place to stay to enjoy all the delights of mid coast Maine.

We’ll be back!
My family and I loved everything about our stay at this cottage on Mill Pond! This was our first time in Maine and we’re already talking about coming back next year. We thoroughly enjoyed morning coffee by the pond and on the swing. It’s a short walk to the quaint General Store down the street and a short drive to the adorable Boothbay Harbor town. There is so much to do in the area but it’s also nice to come back and relax by the water or have a fire with s’mores! Thank you, Tom and Celeste, for a relaxing and fun getaway for my husband, son and me! We’ll be back!! :)

East Boothbay is lovely.
The property is a solid, dependable, clean place to stay, with a nice bedroom, bathroom, small kitchen. The large shady yard is exceptional, leading down to the water. The small village is very quaint. Walking west on Murray Hill road is a great walk with a couple public boat landings and lovely houses, well kept, with many flowers. The little general store is a one minute walk. When they are open, they have great bakery and coffee and other goods. The owners were very friendly and communicative, easy to get a hold of when we had a minor issue.

Calm, beautiful setting
This location was the BEST. It was oyr home base as we did trips from there. The cottage is very comfortable and had everything we needed. The grounds were picturesque! Tom was very accomodating. We highly rrcommend this property.

Cutest Cottage
This cottage was so cute and clean. Located in a quiet area with a general store up the street(walking distance). The owner was very kind and helpful with questions. The kitchen allows you to cook in if you want with French Doors that lead out to the back yard. Highly recommend staying here!

Lovely waterfront cottage
Tom and Celeste's cottage is a comfortable home on beautiful grounds. We immediately felt welcome and at home. Their street is quiet, away from the crowds, but close to everything we wanted to do. We enjoyed cooking our meals in the cottage and relaxing out by the pond. Tom and Celeste promptly answered our questions and provided us with guide books and brochures.

Perfect location to see everything in the Boothbay Harbor area. The setting was delightful.
The cottage was clean and well appointed with anything you would need! The host were gracious and offered suggestions on places to visit. We will stay there on our next visit and highly recommend it to family and friends visiting this area. Lovely place!

Beautiful Boothbay Harbor
Myself and my small family (husband and 8 year old daughter), had a wonderful week at this sweet little cottage the first week of August. The hosts were friendly, responsive, and gave us great recommendations for activities in the area. The cottage was clean and cozy and it had everything we needed. We loved the access to the tidal pond, the fire pit and the big quiet and peaceful yard leading down to the pond, but we also appreciated how close to everything it was! Boothbay Harbor is so beautiful and we loved our week at this property! Thank you Tom and Celeste for sharing your little slice of heaven!

Great location, lovely property
Nice sized place, comfortable bed, enjoyed making a bonfire and grilling out while looking out onto the pond. There is a really great old general store a 2 minute walk away to get coffee, pastries, breakfast sandwiches, etc. I recommend!

Exceeded Expectations
This cottage and property in East Boothbay was even better than what we hoped for, and a case of the online photos not doing it justice. It was perfect for us (myself and my college age daughter), as a base for exploring all the areas in this part of Maine, as well as being the perfect space and property to relax in and soak up all the fresh air and gorgeous views. Tom and Celeste are wonderful, giving their renters as much space and privacy as you want, while also being so friendly and helpful with their suggestions on where to go, what to see and what restaurants are worth visiting. Their love for their vacation home, the rental and their property is obvious. The cottage was so clean, had everything we needed, and was decorated simply with neutral colors and no clutter. The yard is even bigger than what it looks like in the photos, and has lovely views of the large pond and surrounding area. It's a beautiful and peaceful space. It was very hard to leave and head home after our week here.

Amazing
We had such a great stay and will be coming back. The room is small but perfect. The way they have everything set up worked well for our family. Lovely spot for relaxing
I had a great two weeks relaxing next to Mill Pond.: Swimming in the cold, yet refreshing water, reading on the hammock, and hiking nearby. Mid coast Maine feels like home and this property is a great place to explore from. Highly recommend!

Peaceful, relaxing location
Very clean cottage. More than enough for a couple. We loved the big yard with the hammock, fire pit, and the tidal pond. Location is perfect - Boothbay Harbor is less than 10 mins away and it’s a great jumping-off point for the Boothbay Region in general. Only downside was no AC - there were some hot nights where having the windows open didn’t help and the fan could barely keep up.

Our second visit and there will be more!
My two young daughters and I enjoyed our second summer visit here and it was as lovely as the first. The canoe, toys in the shed, and charmingly appointed cottage keep the kids entranced, and I like sitting on the bucolic tree swing looking out over the water and watching them play. This has become a yearly must visit for us and every time we come we want to stay longer!

Relaxing stay
This is a beautiful place. Sitting down by the pond for morning coffee was so peaceful. Great spot for a little camp fire . We cooked a few dinners while there and found everything we needed. Wonderful Cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed out time at this cottage. While the body of water it is on may actually be called a pond, it really seemed more like a small lake to us. The trees around the sides of the property meant you did not really see neighbors much. Some house lights could be seen at night. The cottage location meant that it was possible to enjoy ocean related activities during the day, and then, come back to enjoy watching the birds around the small lake in the evening. It was also nice to enjoy a fire in the evening after the sun set. Firewood was provided. It was also easy to gather small fallen branches from the wooded area on the property. The cottage was more than adequate, there was nothing that we could think of that was missing. Our biggest concern about providing a 5 out 5 rating is that higher ratings may mean more demand and then harder for us to rent it in the future.

Thanks for staying in our cottage. We agree "pond" seems unusual for the official name of it. That makes it sound small. We guess since it has a six foot tide from the ocean, they can't call it a lake but maybe it's not big enough to be called a bay. Regardless, we're glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to your next visit. Tom and Celeste

Lovely view of pond. Relaxing on chairs before firepit. I would suggest a gas grill vs charcoal. Cottage is clean comfortable without a separate bedroom. A great spot with acess to local dining shopping and harbor cruise

Idyllic, Quiet Spot
We loved our stay here. The hosts have thought of everything. It's on a quiet, lovely yard on the mill pond. Great spot for a campfire. Birds and frogs, but no other noises! It's a short drive to many restaurants, shops, etc, but it was a real pleasure to come home to this cottage.

Tranquility!
What a restful and enjoyable stay we had here! Conveniently located. Grocery store and all amenities within minutes of this quiet home. We loved the tree swing and spent every evening enjoying the peace of the yard. Lots of great trails, shops, restaurants, the farmers market on Thursday, various harbor tours, Monhegan Island, and stunning sunsets down by Ocean Point every evening. Hendricks Head Beach was quaint. The Aquarium and Botanical Gardens were fantastic hits with my daughter. We didnt want to leave and we cant wait to return!

Comfy cottage with excellent location
Excellent location with a beautiful backyard and pond. Walk to sunsets over a cove. Lots of local walking and hiking trails. Lobster galore! Owners have put lots of thought and heart into this little cottage. We enjoyed it very much!

Outstanding cottage, excellent location
This cottage set the stage for a most relaxing and peaceful vacation. Tom & Celeste were welcoming and provided a great balance of hospitality & privacy. The location was perfect for participating in all the area has to offer. The proximity to the East Boothbay General Store was great. Overall highly recommend!

A beautiful, clean, simple paradise; massive trees and a lake.
This was our first VRBO. We were desperate for a quiet place in a natural setting with a kitchen. This is a few miles out of the bustle of Boothbay Harbor on a beautiful piece of land. As you come up the drive you can see through the massive trees in the backyard down to a small lake. The cottage is well designed and efficient. With the views out of every window it is also lovely. We enjoyed the nearby botanical gardens immensely, but found the Maine State aquarium depressing. We highly recommend this place and we are grateful to the owners for sharing their bit of paradise.

Oh, and we agree the aquarium needs some work and expansion. :) It's a good thing there are so many other great things to do around the area!

Wonderful guesthouse for my family of 3
My husband, daughter and I had a wonderful stay at this guesthouse in EBB! We had all the basic amenities to call the guesthouse our home base for 3 days, and had so much fun walking up and down the road to the boat launch. I would definitely recommend staying here!
