"very steep stairs leading to rooms. Property is showing signs of wear and tear. We received emails regarding questions of access and connection to after-hours staff after we left!!! The room was clean and well stocked but showed its age. there is a much better option 10 minutes up the road for almost half the price. There are no extra amenities to speak of . Basically, there are only 2 options within the village and thus, this one is overpriced. Stay in Haliburton or Bracebridge instead."

"Very disappointed in our trip this time. We've been coming to the sword in every year for the past 6 years. The location is the only good thing about this property. When we got into our room, the shower still had other people's hair strands in it as well as old soap scum along the walls. The shower walls were not scrubbed at all after the last guests. The room smelled musty and not freshly cleaned. Maybe they went under new management, I have never experienced this place to be so terrible until...

"Die Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Allerdings war es das auch mit den positiven Dingen. Die Kaffeemaschine ist zwar vorhanden, aber ohne Filter unbrauchbar. Zum Kochen gibt es einen Topf und eine Pfanne, das wars. Der Halter vom Föhn könnte mal abgestaubt werden,der Überlauf von der Badewanne ist mit einer Klebemasse versaut, der Wasserauslass der Badewanne hängt nur am Rohr. Die Halterungen an den Nachttischlampen sind beschädigt. Der Boden ist krumm und...

"The room was serviceable and reasonably clean. To me it seemed expensive for what it was, but maybe that's the market for the area. The host was a little difficult to track down upon arrival as there is no clear office, but it worked out fine so I don't have any complaints,"

"It was mid week, so not so busy as you might get on the weekend so the place was nice and quiet, saw some other guests enjoy a campfire in the fire pit, i enjoyed the sound of the river a bit of road noise, bed was comfy, nice to have a fridge and coffee maker waiting."

"Our stay was good. That would be nice if the AC was working when were there. No lake view as our suite was full of trees. You can use the water sports but you need to keep asking permission from them. The beach was good but there is a rocks entrance. We enjoued canoeng and paddle boarding to the other side of the lake ,there is a beautiful river there andvery nice for paddlr boarding and canoeng. Over all it was good"
