All new flooring , new kitchen and bathroom tile, new taller toilets, has been added and ready for use. We made these updates to make it cleaner and easier to use the already family friendly home away from home!! Check out the updated photos and let us know what you think....... A quiet place to get away, on three acres of wooded grounds, with all the things you want. Winter months, 4-wheel drive or chains are highly recommended! Close to town with a beautiful mountain lake just minutes away. Hiking, fishing, hunting, touring, train rides, or just sit back and enjoy the mountain beauty of trees, wildlife, and relaxing in a quiet home away from home. With all the kitchen utensils, bedding, towels, entertainment you need to make your stay a pleasant restful vacation event. Watch 3D TV, rest in comfortable beds, lounge on the decks, BBQ your favorite meats, just be yourself in a home you can consider your own. 10 minutes away from town so you can have great dining, go to the movies, visit an old western town with loads of history. Shop till you drop or get on the Durango Silverton Railroad train and see glorious sights to the great mining town of Silverton where you will find great food and shopping. Out of the way and close to everything!

My wife and I and our kids (11 & 8) had a great stay! Our hosts greeted us on arrival and gave us a tour and walkthrough, and checked in on us via text several times during our stay. Excellent location that’s just a short drive from Lake Nighthorse and 15min from downtown Durango. Our kids loved exploring and hanging out in the little shady spot that had hammocks, chair swing and a picnic table. It was abnormally hot during our stay so we had to run the window unit AC units in the evenings, but unlike many CO houses we were fortunate they had them!

Amazing experience!

My friend and I both enjoyed our stay at this cute quiet spot! The stars were so beautiful to see at night and the house had all the cozy vibes. The hosts were very friendly, kind, and communicative and made sure our stay was comfortable. We will definitely be coming back!

Family ski trip

Our stay was just perfect. We have a larger family with four children, and the house was a perfect size. We felt that it was a great distance to the town, easy drive to Mesa Verde and purgatory. Everything was fully stocked for me to cook for my family and it was wonderful. My little girls especially loved the 3-D TV. What a treat for them. Thank you so much!!!

Private and Relaxing

Our stay at Byrket's Hideaway was exactly what we needed to relax and recharge. Absolutely adorable and lovely private place to stay. The hosts were fabulous and sweet. Secluded Retreat

The road to property was a little rough. After you get there, there is every thing you need. We lived eating outside. The porch swing needs adjusted, it rubbed against the house & hit the back railing. Just the right amount of space for us 4 adults to relax & cook our evening meals after a full day of going.

Fun in Durango CO

Excellent property and awesome hosts. They made the check in process so easy with a tour of the property. Very good at communicating and making sure we had everything we needed. The property had a very positive vibe and the bear theme was great! Peaceful and so quiet. Would definetly stay here again!

My Favorite Spot in the Mountains

This was my 4th summer to stay at the Hideaway and as usual my party loved it. Our primary activity in Durango is to ride our mountainbikes and this location makes a great hub. The house is always clean and well stocked and each year it seems like more improvements are done, this year a new deck. Eddie is a great host, he always checks to make sure you're comfortable and if any issues arise he's just a text away. I plan to be back again next year!

Awesome Girl's Trip

We felt right at home at Byrket's Hideaway. We were on a girl's trip for the weekend in Durango and this location was great because it was out of the city but only 10 minutes away from town. The house was homey and comfortable. The kitchen was incredibly stocked with everything you could possibly think of. It was a great stay!

Perfect Retreat

The property was wonderful along with the hosts. I came with my recently acquired dogs and the hosts welcomed me along with my pets…extremely friendly check-in experience! The house itself is spacious, clean and welcoming! I will recommend this property to anyone and I hope to return in the future during my Durango visits.

Very homey and relaxed!

Eddie and Deborah met me at the property and explained everything. It was great to know they were close by if needed, but also gave us all the space we wanted. We were very impressed by how well stocked the kitchen and bedrooms were, and used the tons of games! Thank you to both.

Peaceful place near the lake

This place is a hidden gem! Only five minutes from Lake Nighthorse, and about 15 minutes to historic downtown Durango. We spent most of our time at the lake, or playing cards on the porch at night under the stars. Eddie and Deborah made staying here feel like a home away from home! Wonderful property, wonderful hosts - would absolutely stay here again!

Excellent Hosts

Fast Eddie and Slow Deborah had a wonderful, secluded property and were also attentive hosts. They showed us around, were happy to suggest things to do to improve our time in town, and made sure we had everything we needed. We would stay here again without question!

the best VRBO rental ever

Wonderful location - quiet, secluded, private and only a few minutes from Durango. Better stocked than our house. Very nice hosts. I wish every place we stayed was as nice as Byrket's Hideaway. Thanks so much Fast Eddie and Slow Deborah.

Great Place to Getaway!

This is the perfect place to getaway and also very central to see all of the wonders Colorado has to offer! We would definitely stay again AND Walmart will deliver groceries so no wasting time at the store.
