Family cabin since 1969. Located on Fredonia Mountain overlooking the Sequatchie Valley and Dunlap Tn. Only three miles from town and 45 minutes away from Chattanooga 30-40 minutes away from Fall Creek Falls State Park

Great piece of property with a fantastic view over the valley. The sun comes up right there in front of you. The cabin definitely has some quirks to it, let's call it "character", but it adds to the feel of the whole place. There is a new refrigerator (thank you Brent!), the host was extremely responsive and helpful.

We were in town for our wedding very last minute, and I’m glad we were able to book this home! There was plenty of space for us and our two kids, ages 8 and 14. They shared the upstairs and even had their own bathroom. The view is gorgeous, both during the day and at night. You can also look up from the Walmart parking lot and see this cabin. The kids thought that was the coolest thing! The beds were comfortable and the bedding was clean and smelled great. The owner was super responsive as well. The ONLY downside we found was the cabinets, closets, drawer, etc could use a good cleaning and organizing, but everything else was fantastic! We’d definitely stay here again.

Positives:Excellent location, beautiful views of Dunlap and pretty spacious for 6 people. very well equipped kitchen.Negatives: Check-in did not inform us that there was a gate at the front of the property that appeared to be locked, which had us wondering if we should enter. Fortunately, the lock was not closed after I got out and checked it closely. No lock box like they said and code was wrong to enter. fortunatley the deck patio door couldn't lock(one of our guest fixed the lock so it works now) and we were able to enter. owner responded pretty quick with directions. The house has not been maitained AT ALL. the deck and railings are in horrible condition. One deck board was pulled loose and curled up to the point we had to put a chair over it so people wouldn't trip on it. the microwave was taped together and not working. One other thing , they have a "boot scraper brush" screwed down to the deck, but it is placed in a walkway, not up against the cabin to the side of the door. One night we were all sitting on the side deck and one of our friends got up to go inside and tripped over this and had a horrible fall, which ruined the rest of her vacation. We have stayed in many VRBO rentals, you can tell when an owner puts forth an effort to keep their place clean and well maintained and accommodating, unfortunately, we did not feel that here. get some professional cleaning people in to do a thorough cleaning and do some exterior maintenance and you would have gotten 5 star

Beautiful view from the top of the mountain. We saw lots of cicadas and a fox. Lots of room in the cabin and comfortable beds. Big sectional couch for everyone to sit watch TV and relax in the A/C. Large washer and dryer. Grandsons loved the jet tub. Close to businesses but far enough away to have your privacy.

Overview of property

Great view. Property need TLC. For example: microwave, handle of stove, light fixture dangling by wires in on of the bedroom. Short supple of toilet paper, ( we bought our own) , evidence of mice presence, and cockroaches. . Closets we stuffed with stuff so that we could not hang out clothes and so where the drawers, stained towels., parts of childrens toys under bed., maybe some directions to start fireplace. Hope this will help you with future guests.

Perfect Getaway

The cabin was absolutely perfect! The views were unbelievable beautiful…..close to Dunlap TN (cute downtown), hiking, and Chattanooga. We will definitely be booking this place again when we come back to visit family.

This was my second visit and I was able to spend my leisure time in a very relaxing environment with a beautiful view. At night, I was able to see the beautiful night view and stars, and I enjoyed the quiet environment. This time, it was snowing and very cold, but I was very satisfied with the wonderful time I had, which will become a good memory. We will definitely come here again.

Exactly what we needed!

We had such a great stay at this cabin, thank you Brent for sharing it with us! Pictures don't do a justice! Great views, fire pit, amazing (super clean!) grill, well stocked kitchen, three bedrooms/ two bathrooms, comfortable living room, all possible streaming apps - we watched a lot of movies and hockey games (Go Bolts!). It was such a great relaxing stay for us, different from crazy busy vacations we used to take. Walmart is a short drive (7 mins) so location of the cabin is great - you feel you are far away from everyone looking over the town from the top of the hill, but you can drive to some fun places like Chattanooga (50 mins), Fall Creek Falls State Park (35 mins), or the Lost Sea Adventure (1.5 hrs) - all well worth the visit. There are two TVs and some board games including everything you need for poker (kids enjoyed it a lot!) Highly recommend this cabin for family time and relaxation - and don't forget everything for S'more!

Private and Spacious

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Although secluded, it was easy to find with Google Maps. The view was beautiful and the cabin had plenty of room inside and out. A wrap around porch allowed 360 degree view of the woods and valley below. The kitchen was well stocked, beds adequate and functional patio for grilling. It was clear that the cabin was well used by families, but was clean and everything worked.

Beautiful View!!

My group and I had an amazing stay, the cabin is so spacious and has the best view on the back patio! The host was extremely responsive and very friendly, there were a few minor things that need to be updated/fixed but overall it was a great experience!

Dunlap cabin

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin with a view and privacy! Brent, the host replied to all my questions quickly and was very kind to offer to bring us wood for the fire so we could roast marshmallows and make s’mores! We already booked our next stay before everyone sees this review and starts booking .

Mountain Cabin

The views are spectacular from this mountain cabin. Every morning all of us woke up and enjoyed our coffee while we watched the sun rise up over the mountain on the other side of the valley. We had a great time and would love to stay here again when we come back to Dunlap.
