However, my room faced onto a large public car part that served a pub, restaurant and the biggest bottle shop I've seen. It was used by young people to kick a ball around. I needed to sleep early, but was woken at 10:30, just after the doors were closed, by a youngster asking if I'd let him through my room to the back so he could retrieve his football. I refused. There were patches of paint all over the walls, ripped curtains, and the couch was dirty and smelt strongly of mould, which made the place feel unhygienic and uncomfortable.
