"The Empress is in a great location. The bus stop from the airport is extremely close (4). This id ideal for exploring the whole island. Staff were very friendly, we dropped off luggage prior to check in. The hotel seems to have recarpeted throughout and underlay very comfortable. Room was a Triple as we travelled as a family of 3 Adults. 3rd bed was a proper single not a pull out. Room was quiet, extremely clean and well maintained. Breakfast was faultless. "Hotel was being worked on(which was fine). Our room looked into a service area which was quite a mess and could be cleaned up a bit. Rooms could be serviced towels changed, bins emptied, tea coffee replenished more frequently Everything else was good. Breakfast excellent. Rooms clean and large. "Hotel is quite expensive for what you get. Bathroom needs an upgrade water all over floor when showering and very dark with insufficient lighting and very few places to put your stuff. Quite noisy at night quadruple glazing fitted but when closed of course no fresh air. Staff very good and helpful. Breakfast could do with kippers on the menu especially being a Manx hotel with wet fish shop close by. "

The only thing I could say is you have a designated bathroom for each room and our bathroom kept being used by other people staying in the property. Men who don’t clean up after themselves! "Great location. Parking space on car park to the rear. Spotlessly clean. William the receptionist / caretaker was excellent. Has everything you need. However, it sells itself as a luxury apartment and it doesn’t live up to it. Eg. In the bedroom there is only one bedside table and lamp. On one corner of the bed there is only six inches in which to get past. The wardrobe is not great quality and the sliding door comes of it’s rail easily.
