"Gaya Island is a great destination for snorkelling/ diving, the water around the property is full of life even from your villa and the walkways there is plenty to see. Gayana resort is plastic free and no water motorsports are available- which I did much appreciate. Staff are very friendly and helpful throughout, the properties are clean and spacious. "A lovely hotel by the waterfront with an amazing view of yachts and the islands. All meals are in the buffet restaurant that provides a huge choice of local dishes and some international food. There is a tiny bar by the waterfront that serves simple food in the evenings. Excellent service staff and ambience. The hotel is just 15 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes to shopping malls, served by the hotel's free shuttle bus. Grab to the city is easy to get and inexpensive. Very...

"I stayed for 2 nights in different rooms. The only problems was splashing water from the hose connecting to the heater when turning water on. Second, the water tap on in the kitchen nearly loose from the sink. Tea cups too small and coffee packet and tea bag not enough for 4 persons room."

"The Borneo Beach Villa is an incredible value! The South China Sea is beautiful, clear and clean!! The villa is as pictured though with some wear and tear - though still lovely and spacious. We stayed in a unit with its own pool that was on the beach.The staff was very responsive. I would recommend renting a car if you are not too intimidated by driving on the left."

"No hot water. Also, they advertise free shuttle to the airport. When I came down before 7:00 a.m to catch the shuttle, they tried charging me. They would not help me to get a shuttle, and in fact, they put another group in the shuttle before me when I had been waiting. I found the place kind of dirty. It needs some new carpeting and some clean looking towels. This may be one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at."
