"My stay was great. The place is huge and the rooms are nice and roomy. (We did get an upgrade but I’m sure a regular room would have been great) Parkkng was very convenient. Breakfast was early so that was good for our schedule. Nice to have the restaurant attached. Not open Sunday evenings tho!"

"This is a unique property. The house is beautiful, but it was a little difficult to tell what exactly we were getting from the listing. We wound up with a room with an en-suite bathroom, which I would definitely recommend, otherwise you may be sharing a bathroom with complete strangers. We stayed here as part of RAGBRAI, so it was completely full and folks were definitely having to share a bathroom and coordinate showers. "This property is a step back in time. The main floor is remodeled very nicely. The basement where the washer and dryer are has a room that feels like the 1960's. It has a radio and bar that are from the old days and is pretty cool. The 2nd floor where the bedrooms is definitely a step back in time. The woodwork and furniture is very dark. "No fresh food for four days. No counter service. Bed was ok, but no king size beds. Toilet did not fully flush. Sink cabinetry cracked. Toilet size for children. Room wall light did not work. "We really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and watching the farm animals. The WRC fishing was a bit disappointing, but there was an area fishing derby the morning we arrived, so they might have been a bit timid. The house was very neat and felt very homey. The kitchen was nice, although there was a sign posted about not longer providing breakfast supplies starting in 2021. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and will most likely come back in the future."
