Martin Ridge Ohio river view

Our guest house has 4 bed rooms. The master bed room has a California king bed the others have 2 queen size beds. There are two full beds for the smaller people with a fight to see who gets to sleep in the coveted Crows Nest. We can easily sleep 20. The kitchen in stocked with the usual pots, pans, dishes and the apliances linens provided. Outside patio has wood and a fire pit. Deck just out the patio doors in the kitchen has a grill with charcoal in the garage. This home was built by our son in 2002. it is one of 3 homes on our 200 acre farm. It sets at the very end of Martin Ridge in the center of the farm. The closest house is to the rear of the guest house 1/8 mile away. The only thing beyond this dead end road is the remaining part of the farm, a herd of beef cattle, a 6 mile river view, miles and miles of hills and hollows, starry nights ,moon and sun rises and sets, and lots of natures wild southern Indiana critters. The name of our farm is Peaceful Hills, come stay with us and you will come to appreciate the meaning....

This property far exceeded our expectations. It is truly a hidden gem that allowed for an amazing family getaway. The cabin had a fantastic layout, was well stocked and wonderfully kept. The scenic property was beyond what pictures could capture. The pond and pool were fantastic for the kids and adults alike. Jerry and Joann made you you feel like old friends rather than simply house guests.Absolutely recommend and can't wait to return.

Beautiful view, several open spaces for family time, large bedrooms, clean bathrooms, great water pressure and up to date appliances. Firepit with sidewalk entrance to home. Extra refrigerator/freezer in the attached garage.

Even though there was rain from Helene everyday but the first we still found plenty of space to play , watch tv etc. Clean, comfortable and spacious.

Came for a weekend of relaxing. The fishing overall in Derby wasn’t great but it was great to breathe the fresh air and take in all the amazing views offered by this home. Our second time at the property was just as nice as the first.

This was our third time vacationing here. We just love it. Once again, we had a wonderful stay. It was so relaxing and beautiful. The house is clean and welcoming. The pool is fun and enjoyable for everyone. The kids (and adults) really enjoyed the cows as well as the stunning views. Joann and her husband are amazing hosts and we appreciate all their help and answers to our questions about farm life. We highly recommend this beautiful property.

We’ve been here with our six grandchildren in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024! We love this place. When we arrived this time, the oldest grandson (now 17) stretched out his arms and said, “It feels so good to be back!”

the pool was definitely a win! the views are beautiful. we have land close but cannot fit our whole family in that house, so this was perfect. feel like you are on top of the world

The home is beautiful with a stunning view. The home was very clean. The kitchen was fully stocked, paper roducts included. The pool was a life saver, as it was in the 90's every day of our stay. Enjoyed the firepit and selection of tv channels. The owners were great to work with. Only downside is a few changes needed in listing. It is listed as 4 bedroom and crow's nest, then 5 bedroom and crow's nest with beds listed in a total of 6 rooms. We assumed the last. It worked out, but not as i had hoped. The kitchen would be mighty tight if you added another table and more chairs. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.

This was out second time staying at this property and everything was wonderful just like the first time! The property is beautiful and very family friendly. We weren’t able to use the pool as much this time around due to cooler weather but we had fires in the evenings and even ventured out to Owensboro a time or 2. The hosts are wonderful and very responsive if needed. Our large family loves this house and will most likely be back for more stays in the future!

We couldn't have selected a more beautiful, peaceful, perfect place to celebrate one of our group's upcoming marriage. The property had everything we needed and more. And the host was very friendly and helpful. We plan to return next year for sure 😀

This was our families second time to stay at Martin Ridge. We love it here. Something for everyone, pool, fishing wonderful surroundings. The house was immaculate and it is equipped with everything you would have in your home. Joanne and her family are wonderful hosts. Met her grandsons and they are polite, respectful and wonderful boys. Already booked for next year!

He had a lovely stay, we had beautiful views and ample space. We really enjoyed our stay. We were able to go to another property the owner had to see the eclipse, since this home was at 99% totality. Joann when above and beyond and we have already discussed coming back. We couldn't see house numbers on the home and it took us a minute to find the rental.

The location and atmosphere couldn’t have been better. Seven men came together for our annual retreat. The space is beautiful and spiritual. We ate, drank, walked and sat by the fire. The view of the forest and river make this a unique and special place. We hope to come back again,
