The Space:

This oceanside vacation rental boasts wonderful ocean views and a massive deck overlooking the sea. With art deco lighting, a cozy fireplace, and an unbeatable location for whale watching, this dog-friendly home is ready-made for Oregon Coast family reunions or group getaways.



What's nearby:

Located just south of Depoe Bay, you'll find yourself perched right between Cape Foulweather and the Ben Jones Bridge viewpoint. This part of the coast is a rocky cliff, but sandy beach access points are within a quick drive in either direction - Beverly Beach to the south is a great place to look for fossils or take the kids to run, and Fogarty Creek to the north is one of the best spots for tide pool searching and agate hunting. You can find great shopping and dining options to the north in Depoe Bay, or venture south to Newport for whale watching excursions, frequent events, and beautiful bays and beaches.

This house was all about the view! We were lucky enough to see a few whales. It was comfortable although a bit dated and musty smelling upon arrival. It was great to be able to have my friend’s dog with us and have our own rooms.

Online has amenities listed, but posting feels misleading. The main pic of thebwhale eqtchingnbench - no cluebwhere that is. The view is partially obstructed, but nonetheless beautiful. It is quiet, the neighbors and nice, yet watchful (from the neighbors vigilance, and posted note in the house about "the people aroind you arent on vacation..." it seems like theyve had some issues with visitors before) I did not enjoy checking in taking over 30 minutes vecause the door code didnt work, toting around physical keys, hooing you dont lock yourself out by closing the door just to go outside. I really didnt enjoy the cobwebs and spiders i had to walk through in the garage full of other peoples stuff to get to the washer and dryer. I had to call vacasa/vrbo for the whereabouts of the appliances, as there was nothing inside the house indicating any information other than "dont disturb the neighbors" it felt like i was intruding in someoen elses space, so once locating the washer and dryer, i decided id rather carry home a suitcase full of dirty clothes. I left the laundry room to the garage spiders and their cobwebs. House itself wasnt bad. I think maybe vacasa could have done better though. And since i booked on expedia, i really wasnt expecing all that. Learning moment for me.

House was nice, neighborhood was quiet, which made the time even better. No beach access, stove needs repaired or replaced. One burner was a fire hazard. And the toilet seemed as if someone had forgotten to flush as soon as we arrived.

8 - eight!, remote controls and no list of which devise they are for. Could not get either VCR to work. I got the wifi hooked up ok. But after the first night, Netflix and Apple+ were not available. We are 80 and not as technically astute as younger folks. Our evenings were mostly frustrated. We

Nice spot!

They had toys for our kids, the doors were solid and kept the noise out so they could sleep better, nice big kitchen and easy access to lots of oceanside activities. Apparently this year has had few whales even in Depoe bay, we did manage to see to see one right outside the window!

Absolutely stunning area of Oregon, and a great place to stay, with an amazing deck! Private, but close to everything. Very quaintly furnished.

When Accommodates Does Not Equal Sleeping Arrangements

Listing on VRBO was used as an excuse by Vacasa to explain that the property sleeps 4 comfortably and caused me to have extra expense to house others planning to stay with me elsewhere.

Relaxing weekend

I enjoyed the old ocean front cabin. I slept great in the bed. Kind of a bummer there is no beach access being that close though. Neighbors seemed to hate living in that area. Fortunately I didn't have to talk to any of them. Don't book vacasa through VRBO. They charge yet another ridiculous fee just to book. Normally I would have booked direct through vacasa, but it was a costly oversite on my part.

Cozy and cute costal cabin! Perfect for a group of friends celebrating the new year. It is an older cabin, with a bit of wear and tear, so if that bothers you, I’d find something more modern. Views were great, quiet neighborhood, and great amenities! It was fun exploring apart of the coast we don’t normally spend time at/have access to.

Quaint, whale-watching perch

Big windows to the water made whale watching and sunsets spectacular. Saw several whales visit the kelp bed behind the house across the street - so awesome! The home is vintage or retro. The neighborhood is quiet. No kitchen towels or sponges made cleaning challenging, especially when we found some pans and the stove needing some extra cleaning. Loved being able to have our pup with us too!

Location is amazing

The location is amazing! Simply amazing! The property is old and quaint. Needs some updating, a lick of painted and a good cleaning. Some simple instructions for tv and shower would be helpful. Did I mention that the location was amazing!!

September is a great time to view resident whales. We saw whales everyday during our stay. The house was what was advertised. Small problem with plumbing but it resolved itself.

Beautiful weekend on coast

House was nice, in a cool location and close enough to Newport for shopping and food, but far enough to feel private and quiet. We did have an issue checking in as the deadbolt was locked so our code didn’t open the door, but the Vacasa support was able to get us into the building and we avoided a crisis. The house was lacking some small things like basic cooking seasonings(Salt/Pepper and Oil) but not a big deal. Just bring your own. Outside of that, had a great stay and loved the dog friendly aspect. They even had towel and dog bowls for use which was cute

Great get away location

Loved our stay at Depoe Bay. We really enjoyed the location, it was so easy to get in and out to go explore the coast. The place was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed.

Cute house. Good location.

Cute place but not very clean. I paid a cleaning deposit but the house wasn’t clean when we arrived. Part of the problem was the age of the property, but there were several places that should have been cleaned.

Great location, but NOT clean

Typically don’t write reviews unless it’s AMAZING 5 stars, or I have a genuine concern. First I’ll start with the positives. The location was absolutely incredible! Quiet street, with amazing views. We were able to see several whales, which made staying there worth it. We found most everything we needed in the kitchen, and appreciated the tv with Netflix for evenings. The place is quite outdated, but that did not bother us one but, other than the disgusting pillows. I removed the sheets and pillowcases to wash them myself, and the pillows were old, and stained with miscellaneous colors…. Not acceptable for a rental. The counter tops were clean, although the floors were not. There was dirt and an unusual amount of animal hair on the floors… I dropped something behind the cabinet and reached under to grab it and grabbed someone else’s brush along with dead spiders. Down in the garage is where the washer and dryer is located. On the shelves and floor were mouse droppings. I tried to keep my mom out of there or she would of wanted to leave. The key the door broke in the knob. I texted the account who messaged me regarding check in, and did not get a response. FORTUNATELY we left a window cracked, that we were able to crawl through, which we died the remainder of the trip in order to secure the house. Without these extreme cleanliness concerns, I would of given a 4-5* review.

Cozy cottage

Nice older, cozy little cottage. The beds are very comfortable. Kitchen had what we needed to cook our meals. We had our dogs with us and it was occomidating for them. It would have been better if part of the yard was fenced so they could have been off leash outside. It would be helpful if the five remotes were labeled what they were for, instructions to pull down on the ring on the faucet to switch to the shower, and include the laundrey is in a backroom in the garage, when asking us to start a load of towels. We figured the laundry was in the garage since it wasn't in the house but, we had to google how to work the shower. We were looking forward to a nice fire after a day of getting soaked by rain but, there was no firewood cut up. We would stay again.

Great view and cute house

This house was a great little spot for our family. We saw whales spouting and loved the location for visiting lots of the nearby beaches. The bedrooms and kitchen were stocked with everything we needed. The washer and dryer are in a back closet in the garage under the house which was a little hard to find at first.
