While the property itself is nice, the hospitality was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Although the inn is advertised as “pet friendly,” that was not our experience at all.
Upon arrival, the owner (Lisa) immediately confronted us about our dog in a harsh and unwelcoming manner. We were told dogs were not allowed on the lawn and were presented with a long list of restrictions in a disrespectful and condescending tone, not only about pets but amenities in general. There was no greeting, no “welcome,” and no effort to make us feel comfortable as guests.
As she walked us to the office and later to the cabin, the scolding continued. The tone remained hostile, and the interaction felt unnecessarily aggressive. She seemed hyperventilating and overly stressed the whole time. Due to her direct aggressions, I mentioned that I regretted not booking a different place, to which she implied we likely wouldn’t be able to afford it, which was both inappropriate and unprofessional.
We were so uncomfortable that we stayed in the cabin for less than ten minutes before deciding to leave and book accommodations elsewhere, even at a higher cost. The behavior we experienced was something we simply could not tolerate.
A pretty looking place cannot compensate for such poor treatment of guests.
