"Beautiful hotel. We were greeted by a glass of prosecco whilst we checked in. We had a standard room which was more than adequate in size and it has the softest bed and linen I think I have ever stayed in, the room had a balcony looking out over part of the golf course. We played golf and used the spa after which is intimate in size but well worth using. We ate in both restaurants and had breakfast on the terrace both mornings. Breakfast was fabulous with a choice of cooked or a large continental menu. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was a smallish double and the shower was adequate but not a huge space. Overall a delightful experience.

"Old hotel needs refurbishment. My room had uneven floor that made noises and the carpet needs to be replaced. The curtains didn't block the sunshine, which caused me to wake up very early. Besides the poor condition of the hotel, it was cheap and the location was good. "

"We received the warmest of welcomes from Jim, the proprietor. He was so lovely, funny and kind. Although the Shenandoah is a period house, it is right up to date, the decor and furniture looked new. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent, there was probably something to suit everyone. I’m a bit of a Nespresso addict and usually take a machine with me when I travel, I didn’t this trip but was delighted when I found a Nespresso machine in the breakfast room.
