Vacation

The owner, never got back to me about dish soap and hand soap were empty. And dish sink was missing the plug to hold water in. Sent email and never got a response. Otherwise the location was great.

Heaven

We attended a family event in spearfish . We arrived a week prior to the event for sight seeing . When i say you just have to walk out the back door , its because I MEAN IT!🥰 It waa the best experiences of my life . The loft its self was so homy and welcoming!❤️❤️❤️ Huge should out to i believe his name was Chris for getting us settled in so perfectly and informing us 🥰🥰

Quiet location

We really enjoyed our stay at The Loft. Deer in the parking lot every day. We visited so many locations during our stay. Custer State Park is a must see. The only negative about this location is parking a large vehicle in the lot and there are too many FEES!

Jackhammers on a Saturday???

We arrived to find the apartment as described, however freezing as someone left one of the windows open about 5 inches down from the top. We did not realize that until the next morning, however the heat registers work top notch, especially with the window open in 20 degree weather. Make sure you have 4x4 for the included parking. Upon receiving check in/out instructions, we wondered why are we paying extra for a cleaning fee? We had two bath towels for our entire stay. Apparently the apartment below us was being renovated or had an issue. After an enjoyable (maybe too much) Friday evening at a local pub, we woke up to the entire apartment shaking and vibrating just before 8 AM on Saturday morning and to the sound of a loud jackhammer. A heads up that was going to happen in one of the other condos would have been appreciated. The people doing the reno were there on Friday so it was obvious they knew they would be there Saturday. Also we rented this condo over a different one because it had a tub shower combo. FYI you can not take a hot soaking bath as the drain does not plug and there was no plug to put in manually. This stunk for my old aches and pains! Otherwise, the apartment is in a great location and close walking distance to everything downtown. It is a little more outdated than the pics portray but everything works. Wish we could get a partial refund for the unpleasant, rude awakening and lack of amenities that were described but not available.

The property was easy find and access, there were various options for free parking. The apartment was clean except for a very unfortunate odor. It is close to Deadwood and Terry Peak. Our stay was double booked so we had another gentleman walk in at about midnight. Both parties phoned Chris several times and sent emails but were unable to reach him. The apartment was nice I just lacking in communication with the owner.

Little soap, confrontational owner

During a pandemic, you’d think they’d have soap. There was no dish soap. There was about 1/5th of a bottle of watered down hand soap. There were women’s hairs throughout. The owner also didn’t seem to understand slowing service dogs are the law. We kindly disclosed in advance that we had a service dog - in writing. He confronted us in person, with no mask on during the pandemic, and told us he “didn’t care about the law.” He also said we didn’t disclose it. We have the email to prove it. The apartment also felt like a shoe box. I give this stay an F.
