Firstly, I think it’s important to say that the member of staff that welcomed us to the hotel was wonderful. Informative and friendly, Aurelie had all the time in the world for my four year old every time she saw him. I hope this is passed on to her as she was fabulous. Unfortunately, the rest of our experience wasn’t quite as good. A week or so before our arrival I messaged to ask whether breakfast was included and had a swift response saying it was. I messaged straight back and again on the day before our arrival, asking if gluten free options were available and had no response. We booked a family room and found a blue pill in its wrapper, an earring and some food under the sofa bed, easily accessible and in plain view. We found it late that night, after 11pm, upon returning from a night out. Given the increased need for deep cleaning the rooms thanks to coronavirus, it was quite disappointing and left us feeling as though the rooms weren’t being cleaned properly. We didn’t want to be moved to another room and risk then being in two badly cleaned rooms, so didn’t ask to be. We mentioned it upon checkout and the staff member didn’t take payment for a bottle of 7up, a bottle of sparkling water and a glass of coke. It’s a shame that cleanliness hadn’t been taken more seriously, as we will be needing to visit the area often but will now have to look elsewhere.
