4 nights at Darlington

Lovely property with really practical and quirky accommodation. The kids had a ball exploring the property, and playing in the creek I even got to relax! Great hosts!

Perfect long weekend getaway

Absolutely magical! From collecting eggs for breakfast to bushwalking and relaxing by the fire at night under the stars. Hosts were super friendly and genuinely love sharing this amazing place.

Perfect Getaway

We had the most wonderful stay at Darlington Grove. A perfect 'unplugged' family escape. Safe enough for the kids to explore on their own, the guinea pigs were definitely well loved and the kids named most of the pigs and sheep Beautiful views from the lookout which was an achievable hike for the kids. The bubbling stream was so peaceful and ending the day with marshmallows on the fire was pure bliss.We're already planning another getaway.

Perfect Family Farmstay

What an awesome place. The kids loved everything about the place. Great for the city kids to experience farm life. Also the farm down the road, Tommerup, has a shop where you can get all your meat, farm veggies and milk. Thanks to the hosts for making it such a great holiday

Peaceful get away

We loved our time at the farm. Nobody wanted to leave. It was beautiful to just take it all in and relax. We loved meeting all the animals (especially Stan, the very friendly cow) Accomodation was very comfortable with heating and great kitchen.

Highly recommend!!, what an amazing find!

Can’t believe I didn’t know about this place being so close to Brisbane. My Daughter loved all the farm animals! Sam was so welcoming and even took us for a trip around the whole property! Creek is beautiful. Highly recommended and the dairy accommodation was divine!

Wonderful family experience

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We loved the interaction with the animals. We were very lucky that lambs had just been born and there were two young calves and a piglet. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The property is easy to find, and is close to Lamington National Park. Sam, Kate and their children were very friendly and helpful. They are terrific hosts. We look forward to our next visit.

Warm, friendly and hospitable

What a delight to stay at Kate and Sam’s place. We felt welcomed like family, the children played like dear friends. The ambience is so peaceful, the old milk shed/ cottage so tastefully and fittingly designed and furbished. We loved the trek to the lookout, building rock walls on the creek and partaking in some of the farm life shenanigans. “Feel the serenity” Thanks Kate, Sam and your lovely boys 🙏

Farm stay

Fantastic location. The kids had a good time feeding the chickens and pigs. We had breakfast one day with the fresh eggs from the chickens. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable. As the kitchen and dining area are outside on the covered deck, it was a bit nippy in the morning getting breakfast. The lights outside on the deck and the bathroom window sill could do with a clean. Overall we had a great time and would recommend it to anyone wanting to get away from tv and gaming and get back to nature.

Breakfast with cows

Bright, clean and very scenic dairy. This was the most well thought out getaway destination for us. The animals were so close that we woke up to ‘Fred’ quietly grazing at the back door and ‘Daisy’ at the front door watching over four calves kicking up their heels in delight. The chicken and duck pen is just metres away and we had fun watering them and collecting eggs. The gorgeous dairy looks over the most beautiful valley and the stars shine so bright away from the city lights. I can’t forget to mention the fun we had visiting and feeding the eleven piglets who squeal with excitement every time they saw us. So true to the description, I can’t recommend highly enough, I haven’t even got to the great fire pit yet! A Must! Thanks very much Sam and your talented Wife.

Disappointing Stay with Unresolved Issues, but Cedar Glen Farmstay Was a Delightful Escape.

Our family recently stayed at this property, and while the serene location surrounded by nature was appealing, several issues made our stay disappointing.We tried using the bikes provided, as the guidebook didn’t mention any restrictions. However, a neighbor reprimanded us, making the experience uncomfortable. We avoided using the bikes afterward. Ironically, the next day, the owners and their family spent the day riding several bikes and buggies around the property, causing noise and disruption. My son seeing their kids enjoying the bikes and buggies, asked for a turn, but they ignored his request, leaving him upset. This prompted us to leave the property early to escape the discomfort.The accommodations were also unsatisfactory. One bedroom, meant for four people, was infested with insects and bedbugs, and the bed curtains appeared unwashed. Two small kids’ beds provided were uncomfortable and unsuitable for adults. My dad had back pain from the poor-quality bed and had to sleep on the floor. Showers were inadequate and the unpaved driveway became so muddy after heavy rain that our car almost got stuck. We asked for a refund after leaving a day early but the owner denied our request.While driving around we found Cedar Glen Farmstay and decided to visit. It was completely different experience warm, welcoming, and family-friendly. They allowed us to feed animals like camels, play with dogs, and interact with horses. memorable visit showed us what well managed farm stay

The farm animals - cows, sheep, pigs, horses and chickens. The kids loved collecting the eggs each day. The accommodation had everything that you require for a weekend away. We met Sam and Kate during our stay. They were very welcoming.

Loved our little farmstay getaway! It just wasn't long enough! Even tho we got a wet weekend, there was lots to see and do. Feeding the animals, playing with chickens was my son's favourite and collecting the eggs each morning! Thank you and we will be back!

Heavenly farmstay getaway

Darlington Grove is the most idyllic little getaway. The property has plenty of hands on things to experience and give the kids a taste of farm life. Warm, comfortable and spacious accommodation with an outdoor kitchen to bring outdoor in, plus the hottest shower, the facilities have everything covered. The free wandering farm animals were friendly and tame and immersed themselves with us the moment we arrived. The creek running through the property was a great source of fun for the kids. The views are divine and if you’re adventurous there’s lots to do on and off the property to keep you busy for more than a few days! Loved every moment.

Hidden Gem in Scenic Rim

We stayed at Darlington Grove Farm Stay for two nights and had a fantastic time. The converted dairy was lovely. The bedroom was clean and spacious. We stayed with our two children (aged 9 and 6) who slept on the camp beds and absolutely loved it. We treated our stay like “glamping” so took some camping lights and tried not to use the electrical lights which really helped keep any insects away. We all loved exploring the property, feeding the pigs, sheep and horses. The Albert River is a short 50m walk from the dairy but also has a farm track down to the river if you did want to drive to it. We had great fun paddling in the crystal clear water and throwing in a line. Sam and his family checked in and made sure we felt very welcome. We loved the resident French Bulldog (Buddah) and had a most relaxing weekend which is exactly what we all needed. I always judge a place by asking would I go back? In this case we most definitely would.

Magical Family Getaway

This is the second time we have stayed here, we love it so much! We have made such special memories both times. Our young boys love feeding the animals and visiting them each day. Exploring the river and climbing mountains was also so much fun! Thank you Sam and Kate for a wonderful stay. We didn’t want to leave! We will visit again!!

Fantastic Farm Getaway

Perfect 2 day getaway from the noise and bustle of the city. Heaps to do (or not do) and plenty to explore. Clear skies with plenty of stars and marshmallows shared around the warm fire. Lost World lagoon down the road for extra fun and plenty of animals to entertain the kids. We had an absolute blast and took home a lot of great memories. Thank you!

Family farm stay

A perfect reset

So nice to step out of our busy tech filled lives into slow paced country paradise! Our daughter loved all the animals and we enjoyed waking up to the sounds of birds and the stars at night. Thanks again guys!

Darlington Grove met all expectations

Everything that the online listing expressed and the owners described to me personally was accurate about Darlington Grove. As a landscape artist wanting somewhere that inspired me as well as somewhere suitable to set up my materials in the open and under cover when the needed, this destination is ideal. The bedroom accomodation was sumptuously comfortable and the living space was robustly furnished in keeping with its semi open air design and as a place not too precious or fussy for its use by families wanting to relax.

Beautiful

Had a super relaxing time here with our family, beautiful property, all of the animals were really cute - loved the no reception and wifi aspect to really switch off. Will definitely be back!!
