Andrea was a nightmare of a guest who continuously complained about nearly everything in the home, and seems to live by the phrase the customer is always right despite unbelievable proof to the contrary. I'll start with the hot tub. It, like most modern manufactured hot tubs, requires you clean it with a chemical shock, filter rinse, system cleaner, with adjustment to make sure the PH and alkaline (via ph increaser / decreaser and alkalinity increaser / decreaser) are correct. Andrea tested the water and found the alkaline and PH were good, but threw a temper tantrum repeatedly being upset that there wasn't chlorine, sending me a number of all caps texts with a ton of explanation points. I explained there wasn't supposed to be chlorine, but she insisted that a shock would show chlorine when it certainly would not. The only reason chlorine is listed on the test strips is because I have pool test strips (spa specific ones are not mass produced), which I also explained to her. I then pointed her to the manufacturer's own website to the maintenance section for the specific model spa there, which clarified it was not cleaned with chlorine and welcomed her to call the dealer and ask them herself if she wanted. She then, despite me sending her the literal manufacturer's stated cleaning and maintenance guide, continues to post in this review that I am missing chlorine, which would in fact harm the system. All of this is representative of the kind of guest she is. As for the other items, the same cleaning crew that has cleaned the home for years, that she mentions here as hardworking and kind, were the ones who prepared the home for her stay. The home itself was prepared for their stay and I saw photos of it. She checked in and made no complaints until already there for about 40 hours, and seemed to be fishing for a refund more than anything. My own maids who went back to clean it found little that they actually wanted them to do. More than that, the home has a nest. It is not automatically set to go to 97 degrees at noon. Nobody in their right mind would pay to have a heating bill in Texas in summer. I checked the nest and there is no auto-scheduling on at all currently active. She just doesn't know how to use the thermostat and didn't bother to ask. Beyond that she mentioned none of these other issues during her stay, and would not be welcome back to book any of my listings. I would warn any host considering her to RUN the other way.
