We (3 adults 5 children) arrived at 11 PM, and were unable to enter home as door-code was denied. Listing advertises, "arrive at ANY time" (as we would need) but host was unreachable, with calls going directly to VM. VRBO rep was unable to reach host or help us, as back-up door code also was repeatedly denied. After 90 minutes (at 12:30 AM) with no response from host, VRBO told us to look for a hotel, that WE would be responsible for. This was unacceptable.I resorted to sneaking around to the back of the house with flashlight. Opening fence gate (thankfully I'm 6'6" and could reach over and unlock gate). And find window or door left unlocked.Host was apologetic, but did not take accountability. Onsite help arrived next morning to confirm that door keypad was defective, and did not accept ANY code. We were given default/generic code for remainder of stay.Had I not found MY OWN WAY into this house this would have been a disaster and less than a 1-star review.Furthermore, entire house smelled strongly of rotten food as kitchen sink food disposal was filled with grease/fat/mold.Otherwise it was a good visit with amenities as described except cold plunge, as the exterior water hose is much too short to reach tank.
