"Stayed for 3 nights. Parking at the rear always available, From 'check in' onwards the staff were pleasant, helpful and professional, including carrying our bags to the first floor room. The double room was quite spacious, with it's own short 'hall' to the bath/shower room and door to the main hotel landing, so you enter into a short hall and not straight into the bedroom, nice touch. "Really quaint old inn with lots of exposed stone walls & beams. Staff were super friendly & helpful - really warm welcome & nothing was too much trouble. Bed very comfortable & the small double room I had was perfect just for me. Food in the restaurant was delicious & there was a good choice. Breakfast plentiful, well presented & hearty. "The breakfast was, I’d say, better than in a Hotel Ibis. The food was, definitely, locally sourced. We reached Bruton and the Hauser & Wirth arts complex easily from this hotel. We also visited the Jurassic Coast, but that took us a whole day, and we returned by 10pm."

We had a room in the courtyard , good in the heatwave . Sometimes had to park further away in town car park ..still free ,though in autumn 2026 may have to pay . Staff helpful ."

"The George is a really cute historic inn that is situated in a quiet, magical little village - it is literally right across the street from the ruin of a Norman castle. While you need to leave town to get to Frome or Bath, the bus stop is located right outside the inn. It has a friendly little pub that serves good food and is frequented by guests and locals. "The room was very dainted could do with a reverb in the bedrooms stayed on the hottest weekend in June and all we had was a old small fan in the room Bathroom could do with a very deep clean. Pub itself was nice. Stuff behind the bar were very friendly. Landlord was grumpy and chose to see it with both their big air-condition fans facing himself."
