Keeps Getting Sweeter!

My family returned to stay at this property for our second year in a row. When we pulled in it felt like just yesterday that we had left and returned home from last yearā€™s family vacation. The place was as clean as ever and we could tell the owners had done little things to keep the place fresh. Our little girls got to watch and interact with the deer, turkeys, and other forest animals in the yard. Amazing neighborhood, amazing hosts, and an amazing place to make memories that last a lifetime. Thanks Mary Louise and family for another great year at the Black Bear Chateau!!

From Kentucky to Colorado

I cannot express enough what a wonder week we had in Colorado Springs. The property was absolutely gorgeous. We were greeted on our arrival by a pack of turkeys roaming the front yard. We were even more pleasantly surprised by 4 deer cooling off in the shade in the backyard mere feet from the entrance to our home for the week. The check-in process was easy and instructions were thorough. The space is wide open and sprawling in the main area. The master bedroom was perfect for me and my wife. My son slept on the pullout couch. The daybed was comfortable to him but he liked the size of the couch better. The kitchen was extremely handy for snacks and lunch-like meals. The view from the backyard really is gorgeous. The location was perfect for our adventures. Pikes peak, white water rafting and a run up to Denver were all east drives. My wife and I agreed we had the best week of our lives with our 19 yo son. After 30 years together that is saying something. We would recommend this property and our hosts to anyone and everyone. The host family was exceedingly kind and gracious and the pictures of the property, while beautiful, actually fall short of what and amazing home it is. Thanks again for a wonderful place to stay. We hope to be able to do it again soon.

Holiday Weekend in Colorado Springs

Highly recommended property with a top tier host in the Colorado Springs area. Property was very clean and extremely roomful. The property had some excellent views of the Springs area and also hosted local deer each afternoon. An amazing stay for sure.

Beautiful Vacation Home

I had the pleasure of spending the Christmas holidays at Black Bear Chateu in Colorado Springs. The home was beautiful and my host, Mary Louise, had decorated my home with Christmas lights and decorations which made me feel right at home. The property has everything you could ask for including bedroom, kitchen, televisions in the living room and bedroom and deer and turkeys that visited every morning. There are also many games and books plus a foosball table to keep the youngsters entertained. This is the premier location in Colorado Springs as it was in the mountains but only 10 minutes from the Broadmoor Resort and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and 15 minutes from North Cheyenne Canyon and Garden of the Gods. Our daughters and grandchildren live in Colorado Springs, and I hope to stay at this home whenever I go out to visit. Many thanks to Mary Louise for brightening my holidays and making the trip perfect..

Fall get away w my boys

very friendly, safe neighborhood. Got to see lots of wildlife, the deer were right there in the back yard in the mornings. enough kitchenette to prepare our own food, but close enough to go out too. Host left a nice note and some snacks for us and the wildlife, very good experience

COS Family visit to Fort Carson

This property is amazing and Mary the host was so attentive to all our needs. We had a late arrival on check in day and Mary left lights on and didnt rest easy until we were in unit. Spacious Retreat!

Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Black Bear Chateau! There was wildlife out the back door every morning and evening. Our little girls (5&7) wanted to walk around the trails in the back yard every chance they could get. The neighborhood is safe and quiet while still being conveniently located to some of Colorado Springs best attractions. Make sure to read the description of the listing to ensure it fits your familyā€™s needs. My wife and I had never stayed in a VRBO connected to someoneā€™s home but this was not at all an issue. The rental is the whole bottom floor. Itā€™s very quiet and private. The host family is extra respectful of guests. They do a great job of running the vacation rental and you can tell they have put in the effort to make the place unique and special. There are lots of toys and games for kids of all ages included. Donā€™t worry if your kiddos leave theirs back at home. For the value this place is really hard to beat! The next time we schedule a trip to the area this will be the first place we check for availabilityšŸ‘

A beautiful location!

We loved our stay. There was more than enough room for my family of four, and the kids loved to be able to walk around the property and be one with nature. I don't think we have ever been so close to wild deer as we were during the time we spent there. If we ever come back to Colorado Springs, we would definitely stay here again.

Even though this was the basement of their home, we only saw the owners upon arrival as they happen to be in the driveway. It was very quiet. We had a doe and her 3 fawns visit often as well as a buck, rabbits, and squirrels. Check in and out was easy. The accommodations were perfect! I missed having a full kitchen as I like to cook, even on vacation, but the mini cookware they supplied worked out just fine. They left fun little treats for us which was nice. Would definitely stay again!

Lovely!

My husband and I enjoyed our week stay at the the Chateau. The hostess was friendly and helpful. She made it extra special with the little things like snacks, fresh water, and cute items along the paths, etc. My favorite things about the stay was the back porch, the wildlife, the views, and the neighborhood. I would recommend listing all of the applainces in the description as well as better quality paper towels and toilet paper. Overall, our stay was very good and we would stay hrte again if we come back to CO Springs.

Me and my FiancĆ© enjoyed our stay. Mary was an amazing host. She was quick to answer any questions we had. We felt very welcome. At first we were apprehensive about renting a shared property as we wanted our privacy. That wasnā€™t an issue. We were never bothered and never heard hardly any sounds from above.The space was very comfortable for several people. Comfortably fit a family of 4 to 6. Location was ideal for Colorado Springs area. Very easy commute to and from the Colorado Springs airport. As well as easy to get to pikes peak and garden of the gods. Absolutely gorgeous view from the home. Right at the foot of the mountain. Definitely recommend to any who want an affordable alternative to a resort or hotel. Highly recommend. Definitely would come back to this property.

Quiet and beautiful views

Great place and beautiful view especially just looking out the windows and seeing deer and rabbits. The creek was dry(frozen) but great little walk through paths. Itā€™s great that itā€™s located around many stores and plenty to do in the area.

Perfect Hideaway

This was the perfect property and location for my husband and I during our stay in Colorado Springs. It was the perfect size for the two of us and provided us all the necessities and privacy that we needed while we were there. The best part was the daily visits from the multiple deer that roamed the area. Mary Louise was very accommodating and responsive during the entire process. We would definitely stay here again! Beautiful Relaxing CO Springs Stay

Beautiful place at the foot of Cheyenne Mtn. Loved the short trails to various relaxing, tranqul spots. The wildlife was incredible: Birds, Deer, Turkey, lizards, squirrels and even an occasional bear can be spotted. The Chateau was very clean and beautifully decorated, and well supplied for entertainment: games, books, movies and even food for feeding the wildlife (except the bear, of course). The host and hostess were very kind and helpful. This was a good location for all the things to see and do while in CO Springs. The neighborhood was quiet and THE VIEW! Rehabilitated the soul! Will definitely try to stay here again if we are in Colorado Springs,
