LOL... I agree, the landscape needs to be in order. I do make every effort to keep up with it, but this summer we were hit with an enormous amount of rain for WEEKS - everything was growing so fast and landscaping maintenance was requiring many more hours of work than ususal to keep things perfectly maintained (and especially with my lawnmower in the shop being repaired). I am a one-person shop and the Vrbo apatment takes priority over some outside landscape that isn't perfect. I also gave my guest an additional "freebie" that I usually charge for - I gave my guest an early check-in which not only took more hours of my time to have the apartment clean & ready much earlier for her and her guests for their early check-in, but which also cost me having to hire an additional cleaner that I have to hire for early check-ins....which my guest is unaware of. My "priority" as a host is to accommodate my guests first, and to make their stay a great experience....... So to be lowered to a 4-star rating instead of a 5-star rating because the lansdscape "outside" the apartment was not as tidy, is really not a fair rating for everything I did for my guest.

I appreciate the great review from my guest! I'm not quite sure why only 4 stars were given instead of 5 stars since they told me in person how much they liked the place and enjoyed themselves.......There had been a power outage in the area late one night for 3 hours (which was out of my control) which also affected the internet and the TV cable, but I was quick to take care of that problem as soon as the power came back on, or as soon as they communicated a problem with the TV. So, I'm not really sure. I did give them 5 stars because they were really nice guests.

I just received this review - I'm assuming this is from the lady whose name is on the booking reservation - whom I had never had the opportunity to meet. There has obviously been some miscommunication amongst their group regarding this complaint...... I initially met the "mother" of the Air Force Academy cadet (AFA cadet) upon her arrival to our apartment (as I was doing a quick check on something in the apartment when this mother arrived, so I introduced myself and showed her a couple things in the place). This mother was a very pleasant & sweet person....... The mother told me that the airlines lost her luggage, so she had to stop at a store to find something to wear before she arrived at our apartment. She also told me that she was in town to see her son, who is an AFA cadet, for parents' weekend. And she also told me that the other (2) guests, whose names were on the booking reservation would be arriving later that day... So that was the first day........The next morning I was suddenly awakened out of my sleep with a phone call from the mother of the AFA cadet. She told me that the airlines was at the front door of the apartment with her lost luggage and that the airlines needed someone to sign for the luggage in order for them to leave it. She asked me if I would sign for the luggage and bring it in to the apartment, because she and her (2) guests were already at the Air Force Academy that morning. So I did what this mother had asked me to do - I answered the front door, signed for the luggage, and brought the luggage into the mother's room of the apartment. And on my way out of the apartment, I flipped off a few fan switches that I thought were accidentally left on by the guests possibly in their hurry to get to the Air Force Academy early that morning as a service to them. And that's it! I had never entered the apartment after that request by the mother of the AFA cadet to grab her luggage and bring it in to the apartment that morning.......Our guests have all the privacy in the world!.......I am very disappointed that this other woman, whose name is on the reservation, who filed this negative review, did not bother to contact me about this concern of hers - instead of making false accusations against me - as It could have all been easily resolved.......My 5-star rating for the communication was because of the AFA "mother'" whom I met and helped out - she had great communication with me - not the woman who booked the reservation.

I did not have the pleasure of meeting my guest - more so because he stated when booking the reservation that he was taking his medical boards here. I'm pretty quiet in the upper level where I reside, as most reviews are pleased with how quiet it is here...but I'm going to guess that my guest was "super-sensitive" to any sounds because of being in a very intense time of studying for his important medical boards. I do my best to accommodate my guests, but the reality is that you just can't please everybody.

Just a quick response and clarifications to my guests' response... I realize that we are not going to please everybody, but we do try......We use fans and open our windows to take advantage of the Colorado mountain breezes which works out great for most people.... One does not have to have the windows open at night - no one is telling guests to do that, as we have plenty of air circulation with the fans.......And we do supply extra rolls of toilet paper - it is found underneath the bathroom vanity cabinet where the additional towels and other bathroom essentials are found - I'm not sure where the guest got that confused........Because of the Covid pandemic situation, I have been turning off the WiFi for 5 hours during the usual sleeping hours for most guests to protect everyone from the harmful EMF radiation that suppresses immune health, but I put a special notation on the WiFi sheet that if the guest communicates to me of that being a problem for them, then I can keep the WiFi on for them.......My grandchildren came over for dinner the first evening of my guests' arrival, there was some noise for a short amount of time from the kids, but they left at 7:30pm to go home to bed. That was it. There was no noise from that evening on into their next 2 days of staying here......We don't have many rules as the guest seems to imply - what we do have are guests who come from all over the world, and because of this, we want to make sure that we communicate clearly to them should they have questions on certain things, as people from other countries do things differently than the U.S. - it's for the benefit and safety of all our guests. As I said, we try, but we can't please everybody.

Thank you for your input! A couple things: Everything is nearby - including food shopping which is only 1 mile away. I don't know if my guests were planning to walk to food stores (which they could have if they wanted to walk a mile), but most everyone plans to drive to their destinations these days because of time constraints..... Regarding the bathroom door - it does lock! Either someone did not have the door closed completely or did not know how to turn the handle to lock the door...... Regarding the shower - the water pressure is normally strong in the house and the water is hot if you want it hot. And I have a large water tank for the house. So I'm not sure what happened that you were having issues with it - had someone previously taken a shower?? The shower handle is not out of sync - that is how it is made. When you turning it, it starts with cold water, and when you keep turning it, you will get hotter water. It just sound like something that you were not used to..... All in all, it sounds like my guest was looking for a bigger place - and there are bigger places out there with full showers and formal dining areas....but plan on paying more per night for it. Hmm...I'm not sure either of what you experienced. I do open all the windows during cleaning, so I don't know if it was at a time that one of my neighbors was spraying some toxic chemical outside - on their weeds or something like that......... And was it ALL the towels that smelled like that? (including all the towels in the bathroom cabinet) Or was it just the towels hanging on the towel rack?......... And can you tell me more about what it smelled like? Because I am pretty sensitive to smells myself...and I don't recall smelling anything like what you have described here...so I would appreciate more info about what you experienced. And I would always appreciate your notifying me of that during your stay so that I could immediately check out the situation. Respectfully, Linda
