Rent your own historical Colorado Ranch Resort! Built in 1938, this historical Neal Ranch is secluded in the woods yet towers over the city of Colorado Springs with spectacular views .

Located on eight beautiful wooded acres, Old Neal Ranch towers above Colorado Springs. At the foot of Cheyenne Mountain, this property is extraordinary and unique and completely private. Most of the property is flat, open spaces, and easy to use. Excellent for larger groups, this property accommodates RV's and trailers as well. Amenities include a gated privacy, large hot tub, gym, steam room, sauna, massage chair, wood and gas fire pits, large open areas for sports activities, photographic areas, large dining areas, large living room and tv rooms, observation deck, camp sites, and Uber accessible.

The property is located near the Broadmoor Hotel and favorite Colorado attractions. Attractions include the Royal Gorge, Cave of the Winds, Pikes Peak Highway, Seven Falls, Garden of the Gods, Air Force Academy, World Arena, even white water rafting!



How about the home itself? Its simply amazing! It is a sprawling home with great character and fine finishing. It has luxuries of a fine resort while maintaining the feel of your own home. Please checkout the gym with dry sauna, steam room, and private shower . Afterwards your workout, lay yourself down a in state of the art massage chair guaranteed to put you asleep. Enjoy your morning coffee listening to Ft Carson playing Reveille or a glass of wine to the surreal sound of TAPS in the evening.



Many of our guests love the fire pit because hey, it’s a must to chat around a campfire while in Colorado. All this and much more because we want your experience to have that WOW factor. This property is excellent for family reunions, retreats, wedding parties, or any large group with extraordinary needs. Photo opportunities are epic.

This was the worst stay I've ever had of any home, hotel, ever. VRBO did nothing for me and neither did the owner. The owner in fact threatened me when I reached out to him about these things. Previous reviewers have also complained too and nothing has been made right.Here is the list of things in the home that didn't work or were wrong: - No lights in the kitchen or backyard. - Hot tub not broken and closed down- barbecue broken and filthy- Steam sauna not working- Sauna not working- Everything was dirty - one, somewhat ok pool cue- Heater in the master bedroom does not work- NO hand soap in any bathrooms- USED bar soap left in the bathrooms.- Toilet in the gym broken.- Broken handle on bedroom- Microwave broken- 3 gas stove knobs not working- no basic things like coffee, paper towels, hand towels, etc providedRenter be very aware

Neighborhood was great. Very spacious home. Sizes of beds were inaccurate. No futtons in this house. There are only 2 large/deep couches that can be used to sleep on. After arguing with the owner, who clearly doesnt know in/outs of his home, he agreed to buy air mattresss pillows and blankets. Hot tub, not pool, was in pieces. Not overhead electric in kitchen and living room. Most of the sliding doors didnt work. Steam room out of service. Place needs to have a major renovation. Although the owner very difficult at first, we recieved a partial refund. Not enough in my opinion. Renter beware.

Beautiful property, but failed communication and disrepair of the house put a big damper on our family reunion of 15 people. Wi-Fi was an important meeting for one of my family members, which the owner was aware of prior to the stay - we did not receive wi-fi instructions despite multiple requests. Broken microwave, multiple bathrooms with no lights (had to leave doors open to use so we could see). Also, mildew or mold present in two bathrooms as well. Listing should have warned about bears - we were visited daily and with children it was very concerning. He tipped the trash can over (or got inside of it) and left a mess which had to be cleaned up. This is just the tip of the iceberg. For the price we paid, we should have had at least a 4 star place - very disappointing. I did give the owner a chance to respond before leaving this review, after waiting 4 days with no response, I decided to leave the review.

The property and view were top notchThe upkeep of the house was disappointing A large number of the listed amenities were not working and it was obvious some had not need maintained for some timeThe Grill - handle missing and would not ignite The Microwave-had no powerCoffee make did not work but luckily there was a back upThe pool /Spa was filthy and had exposed wires. A light switch had been removed leaving exposed wireThose last two are safety items and we had 2 you kids staying with usSeveral of the windows had issue one would not close all the way allowing a large wasp nest between the outside window and the screen on the inside. The windows crank out so screen has to be on the insideNot an issue except that screen had a large hole are the bottom. We’re were lucky non of the wasps got inside As I said he house is nice for large number of people to stay together but a larger number of lights bulbs were out. That in itself was not an issue for us. Some I am sure are difficult to change being so high up but his another example of the property not being properly maintained Last if you do rent this house this is something the owner can’t control but there is a bear that lives nearby. I don’t think he is aggressive per talks with the neighbors but be aware. It is still a wild animal you don’t want to make mad. It turned over a large metal dumpster that was no easy task looking for food

The first impression was great, until we got to looking closer. The property needed mowed and weeded. There was weeds growing in between the stones in the back area. The cleaners hadn’t picked up their brooms and a mop down by the laundry room. We had to hunt down hand towels for a couple of the bathrooms. The hot tub looked funky, with no instructions on how to operate. There were numerous little things that our group noticed. The house is huge, with no one having to run into each other. The views were fantastic overlooking the city. Overall, it was okay, but we expected more for the price you pay.

The house has a lot of excellent things. It also needs some TLC and a better cleaning crew. The house size, view and overall function was really great. However, we had 13 people and it not sure how much more than 16 could sleep unless they’re counting couches (not futons). The hot water didn’t work on the first night but we were able to start the boiler, the microwave fuse blew and was never able to reset, the ac was not working in the primary bedroom and keurig broke but thankfully there was a second. I totally understand this being a huge property and the maintenance of it is likely extensive however cleanliness was def lacking. I also found it hard to swallow that you pay this much for a house and they want to charge per day for WiFi. We ended up just using our phones and no WiFi. The gym and the hot tub were def pluses. And the property is beautiful! We would stay again with some communication with the owner and guarantees that things are functioning.

Great property that needs TLC

Great property, great views, great location however, much of the interior needs repairs; broken light switches, broken furniture, broken cabinet doors, broken air conditioning. Lots of space, great workout facility and our family really enjoyed the pool table. The outdoor space was top-notch. It would be an absolute five star property if given the right amount of attention.

Family Christmas

15 members of my family rented this place for Christmas. It was perfect as we all had our own space. Plenty of places for the kids to Rome. We built bonfires and enjoyed the hot tub thoroughly.

Great view and location but not as expected from listing

The place had a gorgeous view. It was set on the side of Cheyenne mountain. It was easy to get to Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods. It fit the 9 of us comfortably. Our issue was having amenities that did not live up to expectations i.e. hot tub with water below all jets and the seating area, door and light issues, paid extra for wifi that we could connect to put had no internet to make it work. There were several other small things that added up for us. The host did respond to to my messages. The host did order in a pan that I had asked if was provided before we got there. I think this place has great potential, but at this time all that joined us felt it wasn't worth what we paid due to the issues. I hope they can work on the home itself and make it all we believe it can be.

Dissatisfied

After an email prior to our stay referencing recent online reviews. The property owner assured me everything was working and that the prior year was a hard year in the property. We arrived at the property to find, cabinet doors falling off, , closet hanger bar falling down, hot tub not working, they said they sent service to fix it. It never did work. Sauna and the steam room were not working, eliptical workout machine not working. Only about to get 1 tv working the rest were unable to be used. Controls missing for warming drawer in the kitchen, Exposed electrical, lights that the switches were very loose and sometimes took a bit to get to work. They charged $25 a day for wifi that barely worked if at all. Overall very disappointing for the price paid and to have nothing working after being assured everything would be working. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It is unfortunate.

Perfect for a grooms dinner and grooms side of the wedding party.

We stayed for 5 days and it was, everything was centered around a grooms dinner at the house and wedding at Cheyenne Mountain State Park. We planned to host the dinner for 60 on the outside patio area but the weather didn't cooperate so we had it inside in lodge/great room and it was amazing, the space was great for a dinner for 60+. It was also great to have friends and family over and provided tons of spaces to hang out, never felt like we were on top of each other, lots of spaces to spread out. Had everything you would expect in a VRBO and even more. Of course we could nitpick but it really was exactly what we needed for: - grooms dinner 60+ people - home base for a wedding at Cheyenne Mountain State Park. - had breakfast, lunch, dinners for several groups throughout the stay - comfortably slept 13 people one of the nights. Were able to keep boyfriends and girlfriends in separate rooms, could have slept more but all beds except 1 slept one person. - The owners were super responsive and fixed anything we called about. - perfect for us, could fully relax. - I gave it a 4 cleanliness, it is a very large place and there were some things over looked. Whatever bothered us we just did a little work to bring it up to our standard. I summary: our son and now daughter in law said the weekend and wedding exceeded their expectations. Would 100% book again if I needed a large space to stay and entertain in that area. Did not need the VRBO to be every, we enjoyed the area

Gorgeous setting but poorly maintained

We had an enjoyable stay but were extremely disappointed that many of the advertised amenities were not functioning. The hot tub was not functioning at all. It wasn’t until our last day when someone came out to clean the hot tub that that person advised his boss, even though we had made the owner aware since first arriving. We went through our entire visit without the hot tub that our kids were so looking forward to. Both the steam room and sauna were not functioning as were several of the items in the gym. Some of the exterior doors in the rear of the house could not be locked and the game room door handles were broken as was the light switch. We were unable to use the TV in the Master bedroom and family room. There were several remotes in the master bedroom, but no idea which one to use as no instructions were provided. There were sugar ants in the kitchen sink. The kitchen and family room table and bar stools could use cleaning as our legs would stick to them. There were stains on the sofa and chairs throughout the house. We really did enjoy our stay, but for the amount we paid the upkeep of the house should have been much better.

Perfect retreat for a family vacation

We recently had a family reunion during the 4th of July weekend. It was 12 adults and this house was perfect. There was enough space for everyone, and the layout of the house was perfect for everyone to have their privacy. It is importante to note that the room with the futons is actually the living room that is connected to the kitchen, so it is not a place for someone easily awaken. Since this area was used by a college student, this was not an issue (and he said that the futon was the most comfortable bed he has ever slept in!). If we ever have another reunion in this are, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Our stay was absolutely phenomenal. The space is so gorgeous inside and out and allowed us to come together with so many loved ones. We had ample space to exist together and to part ways when we needed time to ourselves. We are over the moon with this home and our stay!

Disappointed in Amenities

We loved the property and the location. But very disappointed in the amenities. Hot tub and outside gas firepit didn't work; no washcloths, hand towels or soap in the bathrooms; only 2 bath towels in a bathroom that was to serve 8 people (loft & bedroom); primary bedroom had no heat; dirty silverware and dishes in the cupboards; windows in 3 bedrooms were broken and wouldn't open; broken dining room chairs; tears in the couches; bar stools worn out. Beautiful kitchen and great layout but very disorganized and hard to find things; pans with broken handles; hodge podge just thrown into the drawers; dried food inside the drawers; ice machine frozen up. Regardless, we had a good time and enjoyed the overall property. But in serious need of some attention. When you advertise amenities, they should be provided and working -- especially basic needs like towels.

This is an amazing place, ideal for families and large groups. Nicely isolated yet close to everything, with awesome views, lots of amenities including a great games room. The host is very responsive and replies to any questions immediately. we loved the place.

Lots of potential

The location and property are stunning. Everything you would want. However, the home/furnishings are a bit shabby. Broken chairs, overused/collapsed mattresses in several rooms, broken propane fire pit, mish mash of cooking/eating utensils in kitchen which really needs to be re-organized (we were cooking Thanksgiving dinner for 18 so the kitchen was an important consideration for us). It's a maze of a property and could really use a visitors guide: how to find/enter the gym, where to find air mattresses, where to find bedding, which thermostats work for what rooms and so forth, as well as check-out instructions. We had heat issues with a cold front/snow storm and the landlord, while communicative and helpful prior to our visit, was difficult to work with in dealing with our heat issues during our stay and seemed annoyed with us for expecting a response (it was 17 degrees outside). He finally ordered some space heaters to be delivered. The rooms on VRBO that indicate futons do NOT have futons. There are air mattresses if you dig around and find them, but some have holes. We made a list of items that need repair/attention and will send it to the landlord. Like I said - the property is glorious and has so much potential. But it needs some attention to be truly spectacular.

Disappointing

For wedding. Don't understand the positive reviews unless it's just taken a bad turn. Reserved online in Jan. Visited in Mar and although it had potential, IT NEEDED WORK (junked up and lots broken.) Despite my concerns, my daughter liked it and trusted that work would be done. Site manager very pleasant/helpful. Visted again in May and was pleasantly surprised to see major drywall repair and roof damage fixed and landscape being cleaned up/planted. Manager so accommodating. Visited in July. Work on property had stopped and weeds growing. Owner now managing and not accommodating at all, no expectation that he would honor anything we had previously been told by the old manager (son) concerning early arrival, late check out, repair, etc. Owner was EXTREMELY rude. Went back to son who lives in another structure on site, and he continued to help us even though he had quit as manager. Just avoided out of state dad/owner. Upon Aug arrival, bride/groom, families, bridal party ran trimmer, pulled weeds, picked up trash. Our dads made repair to lighting, screen doors, fire pit, and filled gaps between flagstone on patio with sand (trip hazard.) Moms bought flowers and planted the dozen empty pots (some growing weeds.) In the long run, wedding was nice but rough getting there. As far as we are concerned, Vrbo owes us for time, effort and money we shouldn't have had to put into the place. Warning-doors falling off/many amenities not working, Shame, has such potential:( Really, Vrbo?!

Really cool property - major deferred maintenance and lackluster cleaning

Trash scattered around dumpster upon arrival. Even if left out by previous guests, cleaning crew should have spotted it. Trash all around property in (non-working) fountains/planters/bushes. Had to ask for entry codes right before check-in. No instructions for amenities - hot tub partially worked, was full of debris. Steam room did not work. Moldy, dried strawberry on stairs inside. No signs that floor was cleaned. Toilet by steam room did not flush - full of urine from previous guests. Ripped screens. Amenities like massage chair in photos no longer at property. Listing suggested more private bathrooms than actual floor plan. Severe water damage in gym. Owner told me they’d send instructions to fix steam room - never did. I paid too much money to troubleshoot your advertised amenities that should work when I check in. Owner asked if we wanted wifi code and firewood - did not mention additional charge - charged me $200 for WiFi usage and firewood. Black lights installed in master bedroom ceiling revealed dirty blankets with questionable stains. Candy wrappers under bed in loft. And that $50 a night WiFi totaling $100 —- could not sustain sending a text or email.
