"We received a warm welcome and the owners were friendly and polite. The abbey was easy to locate and our room was comfortable and a good size. The breakfast is excellent and you can walk to a nearby pub for dinner. Pleased to see parking was provided as well. From here we explored the jail, Fowey, Charlestown and everything in between so it’s a central location. I would recommend the abbey for a nice place to stay if you want to see the surrounding areas."

"The pros: really good value for money and a very affordable single room - by far the lowest price when I was booking, highly accessible location near the connection of the two main A roads in the area, characterful ancient building with a pub and beer garden on ground floor stocking local ales, quaint village setting and public square to the front, it's not actually on the main road itself so outside noise wasn't too bad with the window open. "We had an enjoyable 5-night stay at the Port Gaverne Hotel. The service was excellent and the food was very good. We enjoyed the variety of offerings at breakfast and the Sunday Roast. This is not "pub food." This is an old hotel and be advised that the rooms are small and up steep stairs, although the staff helped with luggage. "Room was good and very clean had a issue with the window that wouldn't close correctly so had some road noise. Staff were bringing and couldn't do enough for you and made you feel very welcome food was brilliant and well cooked "
