Thank you Cristi and Andy for staying with us between the Christmas and New Year's holidays. Our blankets and fleece wrap capes are used almost year round, but especially in the winter. Our stone fireplace uses a remote control to turn on, and is natural gas fed, not firewood. Even our fire pit outside and grill are fed with live gas. Sitting in the hot tub in winter, and if the skies are clear, is just a wonderful experience. The skies are full of stars. Did you know that Suncadia belongs to the International Dark Sky Association? Suncadia does not contribute to light pollution of our planet, which is why all of the street lamps and house lights have shields that direct the light down to the ground. Christmas away from home can be a challenging event with the planning & packing that is necessary for the experience to be memorable for everyone in the family. Hearing that your Christmas in our home was "truly magical", is a combined effort of your excellent planning and our cozy home decorated with a Christmas tree and lots of joyful decorations. Thank you, Amy, for your comments. Our staff noted that you left our home in great condition, which is not always the case, so John and I thank you for caring for our home. Cleaning fees in Suncadia are determined by the cleaning companies that service the area. The population isn’t as dense as large metro cities, so retaining qualified and experienced staff through competitive wages is reflected in the fee. We do not have any control over that. Usually, multiple families stay together in our home. We've received positive comments that the instructions helped so that everyone chipped in. It's common items are left behind, and sometimes expensive electronics. We've had guests contact us that they were driving all the way back to Suncadia when they realized they left behind their laptop, once, hearing aids. Stripping the beds helps to reveal items hiding in or around the bed. Stinky garbage from any room can permeate our home, so asking guests to remove it at check out helps everyone, including the next guest checking in. Not everyone lives by the same standards, so we thank you for tending to your dirty dishes. Helping to care for the sanitary condition of our home is very much appreciated! Not all homes offer hot tubs, and ours is right off of the patio, a quick sprint in your swimwear. We provide quick drying hot tub towels for 12 people. No need to pack those from home. With an electronic shuffle board table, ping pong table, golf clubs and putting strip, giant Connect Four and miscellaneous balls, there are lots of choices to relax and do something different. Early Fall is a beautiful time to visit Cle Elum, Washington, where the days are warm and the stars shine bright. In case you didn't know, the 1,000 Steps project at Suncadia is 21 flights of stairs connecting The Lodge to the Cle Elum River. Covering an elevation change equivalent to the height of a 19-story building, the 393 stair steps provide resort guests with convenient access to river activities and also a scenic walkway with concrete stamps of different paw prints of the local wildlife. Our home provides assorted balls and bats and other toys that you are welcome to use during your stay with us. With 12 bikes, scooters and tike bikes with training wheels, we have you covered for clear roads. When it's snow season, count on snow shoeing with our provided snow shoes.
