Originally built as a place for farmers to rest after working in the vineyards, this characterful wooden cottage enjoys a terrace where guests can relax and enjoy a panoramic view over the vineyards and the nearby lake.

The property is arranged over two floors and enjoys a rustic open-plan living space that incorporates the kitchen, a small separate dining space and a laundry room. The living space is furnished with a comfortable sofa, a dining table and a digital flat-screen HDTV. The kitchen is fitted with a cooker hob, a microwave, an oven and a fridge freezer.

Location

The property is located in Veliki Vrh, a small settlement in the hills above the Drava River in eastern Slovenia. The region is characterised by rolling hills, lush vineyards and forests, the perfect place for nature enthusiasts. The hilly terrain provides opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking and cycling and there are many trails that offer incredible views of the surrounding countryside. Borl Castle, an imposing medieval castle is a 30-minute walk from the property or a 6-minute drive.

Ptuj, one of the oldest towns in Slovenia, is a 22-minute drive away and features a well-preserved old town with cobblestone streets and one of the most majestic castles in Slovenia with views over the roofs of medieval monasteries, churches and other historic buildings. Situated on the Drava River the town is also known for its thermal spas offering the chance to unwind in natural hot springs. Ptuj is often referred to as the \"Town of Festivals\" due to its numerous annual events and celebrations.

The Drava River Valley is part of the wine-growing district of Štajerska Slovenija (Styria) and an excellent destination for wine lovers. Guests can visit local wineries including the Ptuj Wine Cellar (Ptujska klet) (a 20-minute drive away), Vino Gaube a family-owned winery known for its organic wine production (a one-hour drive) and Zlati Grič Winery, known for its picturesque vineyards and award-winning wines which is a 50-minute drive away.
