The breakfast was fantastic compared to other 2.5-star hotels; there was plenty of food available. The size of the room was perfect for two adults; it was very comfortable. Plastic plants and flowers are tacky (sorry) and they don’t send the right environmental messages—real plants help us breath! All in all, we had a pleasant stay."

"We only stayed for one night, but we found that the Inn exceeded our expectations. It was a beautiful historic site, and the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff were as expected from the other reviews of the property. I was traveling with my daughter who has celiac disease, and the Inn was able to provide her with a lovely GF option for breakfast that was as delightful as the rest of the offerings. True GF options while traveling are limited, so this experience was a gem."

"Loved the Black Walnut Inn. I would love to go back. The rooms are lovely. Breakfast is delicious. A very generous spread. Self-serve tea and coffee is available at all times in the dining room area. There are also treats one can help oneself too. Chocolate chip cookies our first day and molasses cookies the second. Meghan bakes the best cookies. Seriously, the best. The owners are very warm. If we visit Amherst again, staying here would be our first choice. Thank you."
