"Really comfortable, quiet and clean bedroom, the bathroom was on the small side and not as nice as the rest of the room (still nice enough). The staff were friendly but seemed very busy so they just gave us the key and pointed us in the direction of the outbuiling where our bedroom was located. If you have heavy luggage or struggle with stairs our room would not be for you as there were some very steep stairs."

They are also pet friendly and they provided us a towel and a bowl for the dog. We highly recommend both breakfast and set menù dinner which was very nice. "We stayed at the Horse and Farrier the night before our hike up Scafell Pike, it's only a 25 minute drive to Seathwaite Parking, if you're going up the corridor route. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. the food was lovely and the room we stayed in was clean, well presented and comfy. Definitely recommend eating nd staying here!"

"I have nothing to compare it with as this is my first experience of youth hostels in 40 years. I was impressed. I loved the open area, bar and restaurant. The dormitory was excellent. Beds were well spaced, ample plug sockets, mattress & pillows excellent. Clean sheets and super mattress. The bed was as good as any 5 star hotel. Honestly. The shower was clean but a little small. The facilities in the kitchen were good but some of the pans had loose handles. The staff clearly clean but somehow...
