We had a perfect stay at the villa. Fully upgraded nice kitchen, pool is clean with nice chairs, tons of beach towels for us to use! Very clear & easy communication to get in and check out of the villa. Would stay here again.

Okay place if you are on a budget and repairs are made

The location was fine. But you can only see the water from a limited angle by the pool, not at all from inside the unit. Outside you mostly have the Mountain View with a large water barrel when swimming or sitting in the chairs. There is a lot of deferred maintenance. Outside the umbrella is broken, the wooden chairs are missing pieces, there was no gas in either grill tank when we arrived, and the metal pole that holds some electrical wires is hanging off the building into the pool area. All these things can and should be fixed. Inside, the unit is overall shabby with some shutters unable to be opened, the doors in the master bedroom don’t line up and close so mosquitoes get in during the day and night to bite you. Also the sheets were stained. The 2nd master shower was broken and the powder room sink was clogged. In general some painting and general fix up needed. If you like to cook the kitchen is serviceable but tiny. Overall, not the vibe we were looking for. On a positive note, I did reach out to the property manager and she did bring new gas tanks, had the sheets changed and had the plumber come and make the repairs pretty quickly.

Property was comfortable and nicely furnished. The private pool/patio and view were a big plus. I really want to give this a 5 star rating as our stay was nearly perfect. However we found two VERY LARGE cockroaches in the bedroom off the patio area (two separate occasions). The other bedroom, kitchen and living area appeared to be pest-free.

Solid choice for 2 couples

This property and its layout are quite suitable for two couples. Both master suites open to the pool but are positioned on separate sides for added privacy. The kitchen and living area are conveniently located in between. If we had a couple of wants, it would be a slightly larger kitchen and softer beds for added comfort. We experienced some plumbing issues due to the heavy rain on the first couple of nights, but we truly appreciated the quick response and effective communication in resolving the matter. The property is located toward the east end of the island, which provides a peaceful atmosphere and is just three minutes away from Duggan's Reef, perhaps the best restaurant we've ever had the pleasure of dining at. Additionally, it's close to Isaac's Bay, which we believe is the best beach on the island and only a 35-minute hike from your door.

A piece of paradise

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Madeleine. The villa is in need of updates and repairs but we overlooked that because of the beauty and solitude of the setting. It was an ideal tropical location!

We stayed here for a week. The separate bedrooms and bathrooms were luxurious and the private pool area was the perfect place sunbathe and stay cool. I would return.

Perfect stay

We absolutely loved our stay! Our villa had everything that we needed. The pool was clean and the view was amazing. Communication with the host was very quick and helpful. We would love to come back.

Great view

This is a great location with wonderful views. Property is extremely clean. Several dinning locations very close. Casino is also very close. But the best thing is to drive past the casino and take in some gorgeous views. Take the hike to Isaccs bay as well. Overall this is a fantastic property, with great management. Would definitely stay here again.

Villa Madeline 42

Overall we had a great stay and the villa was exactly what we needed for our trip! The location was perfect and the pool was a great addition. There was one issue when we checked in and were unpacking, which was the tenants before us left boxes and cans of beer in the drawers which was unfortunate and we had to clean up and dispose of. However, we would stay there again and Kelly was wonderful and very responsive!

Fantastic rental!

Everything was perfect, as described. The home was beautiful, comfortable and a great place to relax in the summer heat! The pool was our oasis and the accommodations had all creature comforts. We loved the pool floats and the playmate cooler came in handy on the beach. Kelly was amazing, kind and so responsive. We hope to come back soon! Thank you Kelly!

Wonderful Escape

Stayed here for a little less than a week and we loved every bit of it. The place is very large and everything you could possibly need is kindly provided at the property. Having a washer/dryer was a huge plus. The pool is great. You need to have a rental car to get around Saint Croix. There are plenty of beautiful beaches and hikes near the property to check out so having the car allowed us to do different day trips throughout the week. Absolutely recommend!

Everything you could want in a vacation property. Beautiful views and great swimming pool. Worked very well for two couples as we each had our own space. Will definitely be back!

Great little getaway

Villa Madeline

We had a great stay at Villa Madeline! The property was perfect for our family of 4. Our kids (12 and 10) shared one room/bed. They had their own space which was nice. The property was described accurately, clean and comfy. We had a great view of the water below. We felt extremely safe, both at the property and on the island as a whole. Be smart when out and about. Don't leave any personal items in your car, etc. The owner, Kelly, was very responsive to all of our questions. The AC units worked great, although there was often a very nice breeze off the water so keeping the windows open is a great option. As a prior rental property owner ourselves, please be respectful of the owner and don't keep the windows open and the ACs on!! The kids loved the pool in the mornings and evenings. It's no surprise that groceries on the island are more expensive than what we pay on the mainland. Please do yourself a favor and take inventory of what's in the unit before making your first grocery run. Assuming most folks have to fly home and can't (or just don't) take things with them, we found a lot of small items, ketchup, mustard, syrup, coffee filters, charcoal, bug spray, etc. Easily $50+ worth of items that you can save on. The property is on the East side of the island. We really liked being on the quieter side of things. We hiked to Issac's Bay almost daily. If you've never visited St. Croix, locals are very nice and very respectful. They appreciate small greetings like "good morning" or "good afternoon." If you walk into a coffee shop, restaurant, grocery, etc. you can be viewed as rude if you don't greet people first, prior to ordering. Please take a quick moment to be polite! It will go a long way towards your overall experience. Enjoy!

Charming place....just needs so TLC!

Villa Madeline is a charming community of separate mini-homes with private pools built into a hillside. The grounds are lovely and well maintained. The views are amazing, it really is a gem of a place! The unit we rented, Villa Pineapple has so much potential, just in need of some TLC Villa Pineapple’s furnishings were comfortable and charming. The air-conditioning units in the bedroom and living room worked well especially when ceiling fans were utilized. This is an end unit, so neighbors on one side only. Our stay was very peaceful. There were plenty of beach towels and we found beach chairs in the closet. Things we would have appreciated ( next guests will too) : Two bath towels per person. We borrowed from the swim towels. The kitchen is in dire need of glassware: One glass and three plastic tumblers weren't enough. A few more mugs would have been great too. We were really looking forward to making blended drinks, however the blender had been broken and not yet replaced. Pool Area: The teak wood loungers were nice but really needed clean and comfortable cushions. The chairs with the small table were uncomfortable and rickety, not very functional especially for dining. Substantial pool loungers / chairs and an umbrella would have been great. We were disappointed to see that there was no grill. Our host Kelly was communicative and kind in letting us check out a little later. We had a lovely time in St. Croix.

Great Time

We had a great trip. One complaint was the patio furniture outside was not comfortable to sit on at all. Otherwise everything else was as described! We will definitely be visiting Villa Madeline again!!

Wonderful location but a bit dated

The views are amazing and location is fantastic but this villa could use some TLC! Also, glass ware was very limited for a unit that can house 4 adults. Several pool tiles were broken and French doors were hard to operate due to lack of maintenance. Overall it is a great place that just needs some care
