Relax, surrounded by vineyards, 15 mins from sandy beaches and restaurants.

For many years, the épicerie (general stores) run by Gladys that stood in front of the beautiful village church in Chenac Saint Seurin d'Uzet was a focus for the community. Even today, with the name ‘Gladys’ inscribed on its facade, the building is a well known local landmark and part of the building is a comfortable gite that is ideal for relaxing holidays in the beautiful Charente Maritime region of France.

Chez Gladys  is less than two kilometres from the little fishing harbour of Saint Seurin d'Uzet with its bar and picnic area and just 6 km from the pretty harbour at Mortagne sur Gironde with its string of bars and restaurants. During the summer months, there are regular music nights held outside the village church and larger events take place on the beaches of Meschers, Saint Georges de Dionne and Royan.

Chez Gladys is generously-sized with about 150 square metres of  living area. The gîte has its own private entrance and large living room with Smart TV showing Netflix, UK FreeSat and French TV channels. There is a fully-equipped kitchen/ dining room with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, hob, oven and microwave and Nespresso coffee machine. The bathroom with walk-in shower and separate toilet is also situated on the ground floor. 

On the first floor there is a double bed in the master bedroom and twin beds in the second bedroom. Both bedrooms have good wardrobe space. In the living room there is also a quality twin sofa bed. Baby cot and equipment is available and there is high speed Wi-Fi throughout.

From the gîte kitchen there is direct access to the enclosed and private furnished patio which has a large sun awning and gas barbecue. Just 60 metres from the patio, there is an additional enclosed garden with picnic bench and charcoal barbecue. Off-road parking is available.

All bed linen, bath and beach towels and beach mats are provided and clothes washing is available at a small additional charge per load.
Chez Gladys has been designed to be eco-friendly and electricity is produced by its modern array of solar panels. Chez Gladys also offers soft water water for its guests to enjoy.

Chez Gladys is conveniently situated between the market towns of Cozes (seven minutes) and Gémozac (15 minutes). Both towns have supermarkets and a good selection of shops. Mortagne sur Gironde, less than ten minutes away, also has a small supermarket, pharmacy and an excellent butcher. 

Chez Gladys offers everything for a relaxing holiday for all the family with great beaches and interesting towns including La Rochelle and Saintes to visit. Cycling, horse riding and sailing are all available plus excellent golf on an 18-hole golf course amongst pine trees at Saint-Palais-sur-Mer .
For cyclists, the area is wonderful as guets can hire bicycles locally (Royan) and then enjoy dedicated cycle routes along the coastal paths which are fabulous for all the family. For those bring their own bicycles a maximum of two adult bicycles may be kept in a locked shed in the garden (60m from the gîte).
