Riverside Cottage w/ 70' Private Dock - 5 Minutes From Town!

Families will enjoy the spacious deck and waterfront lot. Boaters will enjoy the private 70' dock and immediate access to the 40-mile inland waterway. Mackinaw City is a short 20 minute drive from the cottage (or venture to Mackinac Island via boat through the Cheboygan lock!) Downtown Cheboygan is less than 5 miles from the cottage.

During the Winter months, we welcome families, snowmobilers and ice-fishermen alike. The river in front of our cottage freezes over completely, which makes ice-fishing a dream!

Great backyard place

The host was super nice and so thoughtful. She communicated with me very quickly, kindly, and was super helpful. There was a welcome booklet with nearby restaurants, grocery stores, beaches, and other great things. The beds were super comfy to sleep in for sure! They also made sure to keep stocked whatever you could think of (or forgot to pack), which was so incredible. Location is nice and secluded with being in a road back road right in a river. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking to get away!

We loved our stay it was close enough to Mackinac City and Mackinaw Island but far enough away to enjoy the quiet of the area. Everything was clean and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend!

Great view

Traveled with the in laws for our annual end of summer/ bridge walk vacation and landed on this gem. I never had to reach out to the owner but she did send me a message about a week prior to the vacation which my family enjoyed. We had 11 people in our group including five under five and the large yard and river were great entertainment for them. We tried to fish a little but it seems like all the fish have been caught in the river but no big deal. The river was quite weedy which was frustrating but obviously not the owners fault. The place was really clean and cared for. We would come back and I would recommend this place to anyone especially if you have a boat. Only about 30 minutes to Mackinaw which was nice and really close to downtown Cheboygan.

Best vacation ever!

To start, we had a last minute unusual request and the hosts were amazing to work with us regarding it. Second, we arrived super late Sunday night and the check in process was so easy my 12 year old took care of it while we unloaded the car. The house was clean, well prepared, extremely close to everything you could imagine. We all absolutely loved the deck and spent many evenings out there playing board games. My husband said it was the first time he hasn't wanted to go home and wanted to stay on vacation. We will definitely be back!

Amazing!

This property is amazing in every way! Gorgeous setting on the river with plenty to do. Quiet nights and days spent on the river await you. Close to town for anything you need and a short trip to Mackinaw. Host were communicating every step of the way. We are already planning on booking our next stay here.

Perfect Weekend Stay

We were in Cheboygan for a wedding and this was the perfect spot for the weekend. Very clean and beautiful view of the river. Two full bedrooms (3rd bedroom has bunk beds) and two full bathrooms. Plenty of space for all of us to get ready at once.

Clean, comfy and a great location on the Inland Waterway.

Impeccably clean inside and out, mattresses and pillows were very comfortable and the kitchen is adequately stocked for making simple meals. The only things I missed were a few more serving dishes and wine glasses. There were nice extras that many rentals donā€™t often have like coffee and all the supplies, enough dish soap to last your stay, laundry detergent and dryer sheets, extra paper towels and toilet paper. As other reviewers have said, the carpeting in the master bath and half of the 2nd bath is not so appealing, but thatā€™s my only complaint. The deck is great and spacious with a table for 6 with umbrella and 2 lounge chairs. The house is in a quiet location with a beautiful view of the river over the huge yard. If you are a boater, the best thing about this house is the DOCK. Itā€™s a relatively new, permanent dock with the 2 ā€œextraā€ pilings and quality cleats so you can tie up properly and safely with 4 dock lines. The pilings are spaced to accommodate a boat much larger than ours, Iā€™d say more than 30ā€™ no problem. There are a lot of aquatic plants in the Black River, but the water depth at the end of the dock is also sufficient for large boats. The dock is lined on both sides with solar lights that make it easy to find from the water at night and also light your walk back to the house. We had a lovely stay and will definitely keep this property on the short list for future rentals.

Under-rated Indeed!

We were very pleased with our stay. Our host was great and this place exceeded our expectations. We had plenty of room for 6 and were very comfortable. There is a beautiful dock which we parked our boat and the best part was the boat launch just a stones throw away! The location was such a blessing as we had access to the black river, the inland waterway and the big lake! We had everything we needed to make for a wonderful relaxing vacation. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful riverside stay!

The Riverside Cottage was a perfect getaway for our family vacation! There were a lot of extras included that made the stay great: crockpot, electric griddle, condiments in fridge, variety of games to play, extra toiletries (in case you forgot something like we did), baking supplies & spices, box fans for hot nights, condiments in the fridge, extra blankets, cleaning supplies, more than enough towels, campfire roasting sticks, lighters, wine bottle opener, etc. Everything was impeccably clean and McKenzie was very responsive to questions. The wi-fi was great for 7 people. Beds were very comfortable. The water on the river was crystal clear and there is a sandy spot by the dock where the kids could play. We were there from Sunday - Wednesday and the river was pretty quiet and peaceful (very little boat traffic).The only thing that I would note (and it was not really that bad) was the older green carpet that extended into the bathrooms (that said, the carpet was also impeccably clean!). Would definitely stay again - great deal for what you get which is a lot.

Location is wonderful for easy access and close proximity to the chain of lakes. House was very comfortable and perfect for our needs. The dock is very nice! Perfect porch view for a morning cup of coffee or evening cocktail
