Great Ski Weekend

We had an absolutely fantastic holiday weekend skiing and staying in this wonderful house! The home was stocked with everything we needed to cook our meals, and the crockpot was a great touch. The beds were incredibly comfortableā€”just like sleeping at home. The location right on Eagle Swoop was a huge bonus, making it easy to swing by for a quick sandwich between runs. After a long day on the slopes, the hot tub was the perfect way to unwind. Deb was super helpful and quick to respond to any questions.This house truly exceeded our expectationsā€”10/10, I highly recommend it! We canā€™t wait to come back!

Thanksgiving family time

My husband and I met our son who goes to school in NC at this cabin to celebrate Thanksgiving together. The cabin was perfect and the views were amazing. I was able to cook us a Thanksgiving dinner while my Husband and son enjoyed the hot tub. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again!

Mountain Retreat with Hot Tub

We had a fantastic day at this property! The house is great and easily includes enough room for two couples with two kids, so the two of us had plenty of room. We really enjoyed the hot tub and mountain views. We were really close to one of the ski slopes, so staying here if you are a skier would be ideal. And it was just a short 10 minute walk to the local market to get supplies. The owner reached out to make sure we had everything we needed.

Anniversary weekend

We had such a relaxing weekend! The house was cozy and we had everything we needed and more!! We enjoyed the hot tub every day. We have voted that king sized bed, the most comfortable VRBO bed, ever! We cooked several meals at the house but also wnjoyed the restaurants at Wintergreen.

Probably better for skiing in winter

Property was ok nothing in particular stood out. There was no mountain view from anywhere on the deck. Flooring in the house, bathrooms, and general decor need updating. The kitchen utensils, fry pans, and pots, were old and of the type that seemed to be discarded by the owners. The property seemed more like a camp than a resort property. There was mold on the bathroom curtain that required us to wash the curtain before use. Otherwise the place seemed clean, but as a cabin the woods, susceptible to spiders and ants. The property was close to the Wintergreen Lodge, however the pools, the exclusive restaurant, and the fishing ponds are not available to the lessors of this property. This was a disappointment but in fairness we should have checked this out before hand. The property served our purpose and in general was adequate. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and the price was reasonable. Coffee in the morning on the deck was peaceful. I suspect this would be very convenient and reasonable place for a ski trip. This is a nice area for adults but we found little to do for a the teenager and the child in our party. We were there over the memorial day holiday.

Long weekend skiing

We had a great 4 night stay! The location and access to slopes canā€™t be beat. And communication with the host, Deb, was fabulous. We appreciated that the house was well stocked things like hand soap, detergent, etc. Would definitely stay again!

Nice get away from the DC area for a NYE trip. Wish there had been more snow and more trails open but this is a great location, easy access, wonderful sunsets! Will rent again in the future and enjoy the easy ski in/out access. Thank you!

30th birthday celebration for our daughter

We came up for a long weekend to celebrate our daughters 30th birthday. The house is well equipped and looked just as pictured. The owner reached out to make sure all was well and was prompt to handle one small issue we had. We enjoyed the hot tub and the large dining table was great for playing games. The beds are comfortable too. We skied one day and it was nice to be able to walk to the house for lunch since it it right off the slopes. We would definitely stay here again.

Great ski lodging for a family

We stayed at this property with a family of five - mom and dad plus two teenagers and a 9-year old. The sleeping set-up provided a separate bed for all 3 kids, which they appreciated! Skiers canā€™t beat the houseā€™s location, which is at the top of a blue/Intermediate slope - Eagleā€™s Swoop. You simply cross the culdesac on foot to enter the slope. Note that beginning or cautious skiers would need to drive by car down to the green/Beginner main slope area. We appreciated the full kitchen and upscale gas stove and took advantage of this to cook often. There are limited dining options at Wintergreen, so we like to bring groceries. (There are also groceries available at a premium price in the small market on property.). The outdoor hot tub is a nice added amenity, and you can even glimpse skiers go by at a distance from one side of the tub. We recommend this property for a family of 5-6 seeking a cozy winter getaway! PS - Be sure to snow tube on The Plunge!! No skiing experience required. We had no idea how much we would love this; it was thrilling and FAST!! Made mom feel like a kid again.
