Family Weekend visiting Nana
Lovely weekend in Charlottesville. The location was great- close to our family, UVA, and all the things we wanted to do and see. The photos are a bit outdated- where there are no arm hairs in the living room and the dining table was a bit more hodge podge. One thing to note is that although the listing says 3 bedrooms (which includes a small twin bed studio with separate bathroom), the attic space has a bed in it. I would consider that a bedroom- since there are 3 queen beds in the main house! Perfect for our family! I found it odd that there was a limited amount of toilet paper, paper towels and dish washer soap- all based on rooms. So for 6 people, we had 4 rolls of toilet paper for 5 nights…be warned and bring your own. The beds were comfortable but the comforters seemed a tad dirty/dusty. We used the gas grill, but there was no grilling tools and brush although the hosts said there were. The house is for sure older, with very narrow and steep stairs to the finished attic/top floor space. Because of its age- there is an age/mildew scenery inside, but after running the AC, it wasn’t as noticeable. Great kitchen but lacking in cooking/serving options- like platters and bowls. We only had two dish towels and needed to do laundry in order to keep up with drying dishes. 2 Coffee makers: 12 cup coffee are and a Keriug- note there are no coffee pods provided for the Keriug. The neighborhood is so charming and walkable if a morning walk is your thing!
