"This was a return visit for us. Lovely, spacious, well-appointed home in a very private, quiet location. It is a great home base for exploring the area - Cutler, Lubec, Campobello, Eastport, Cobscook Bay, Schoodic Point. Lots of hiking trails for all abilities with stunning scenery. Machias is convenient for restaurants and food shopping, gas stations, etc. The owner and the property manager are terrific & very helpful. Highly recommend!"

"Loved this cottage for its beautiful yard (esp. hydrangeas and field), glorious views from the master bedroom and proximity to the West Quoddy State Park. The trails at Quoddy were superb and the striped lighthouse was a bonus (go for a sunset!). Campobello Island in Canada is nearby. A 30-minute-ish tour of FDR’s summer cottage on the island was worthwhile. (No entry fees. Bring your passport.) Watch “Sunrise at Campobello” DVD at the cottage before going. "Amazing property! Photos don't capture the beauty of this place. Inside of cabin is unbelievable. Modern fixtures, incredible ceiling fans, light dimmer on all overhead lights, sky lights, large windows and a beautiful bathroom. I could go on. "We decided on a peaceful, far away, get away for our 28th wedding anniversary. We also needed accommodations for our dog. We found the "Mainely Cabin" and it was essentially perfect.
