We were unable to remain in the unit for more than 10 minutes due to poor air quality and a strong odor, likely marijuana, and were forced to make alternative arrangements. I promptly contacted the host to explain that the conditions made the residence uninhabitable and requested a full reimbursement.The host responded by denying the presence of any odor or attributing it to external factors or the age of the property. She declined my request for a refund and has since ceased communication. VRBO agents have assured me that the host was asked to follow up and that I had “nothing to worry about,” as they would assist in resolving the matter. However, the issue remains unresolved.I remain hopeful that both the host and VRBO will take appropriate steps to address these concerns and improve the property for future guests. This experience has been disappointing and discouraging.
