I’m kind of a neat freak and this place had strong reviews for being clean, so we went with it since we **needed** an escape during home renovations. It was not clean by our standards at all. The bedroom closets and kitchen cabinets were cluttered with personal items, pet hair and nose prints were there upon our arrival on bedding, sunroom fabric and under the couch glowing in the sunlight. The vents and grout were dirty, and the house felt very lived in instead of vacation friendly. There were dead bugs in the tub and spiderwebs in more than a few spots on check in day. The bed I slept on didn’t have a mattress cover and upon check out I found that the mattress was badly soiled with both paint and various other nasty looking stains. “Pet friendly” was heavily advertised in the listing, but no pooper scooper or waste bin were available to use. The cleaning fee is very large considering it looks as if this house hasn’t had a thorough cleaning in quite some time. I felt like I was sleeping on someone else’s dirty sheets and it was far from the necessary escape we both so badly needed.
