Historic Downtown Cottage - Close to King!

Summary:
Located in historic Charleston, SC Cannonborough area within walking distance to popular restaurants and pubs. This charming cottage is only 6 blocks to shopping on King Street and has a Free Trolley pickup stop 1 block from the Cottage House.

The Space:
Private patio and secure off street parking. The first floor has an open layout with a living and dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas range, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. The bathroom is located off the kitchen and features a stacked washer dryer, tub/shower and pedestal sink. There are heart pine hardwood floors throughout the first floor with many original features.

Common Space: Futon + Air Mattress (per request)

Guest Access:
The cottage has a nice yard and off street parking. It is located only a block away from three popular restaurants, Xiao Bao Biscuit, Bistronomy By Nico and Fuel. Walk about 5 blocks and you will be on King Street with many of Charleston's favorite new restaurants and boutiques.

The Neighborhood:
The Elliotborough/Cannonborough district of downtown Charleston. With its friendly neighbors, cozy restaurants, and tree lined streets, our neighborhood will immerse you in Charlestonā€™s classic charm. This house is perfect for a family or group seeking a fun, culinary and cultural vacation. Popular dining spots in the neighborhood include Xiao Bao Biscuit, Fuel, Porchetta Shop, Southbound, R Kitchen, Chubby Fish and many more! Our guests and neighbors also rave about Welton's Tiny Bakeshop and Kudu Coffee. We recommend going to either for a cup of locally-roasted coffee or their delicious cookies and cakes. The house is only a short walk from the very popular King Street where you will find a multitude of great shops ā€“ including antique shops, book stores and fashion boutiques ā€“ as well as endless buzzing restaurants and bars.

Getting Around:
You can walk almost everywhere - but should you want to rest your feet, there are many other options for getting around: Uber, Lyft, Charleston Bike Taxi, Charleston Rickshaw, Green Taxi or Yellow Cab.

This cottage has everything you need to enjoy a visit to Charleston and the surrounding areas.You can walk to a restaurant, little convenience store or drive to Charlestonā€™s attractions.We took our grandson to Charleston for his first visit and had a great time.

Cozy historical cottage with a lot of charm

First, great communication with host, very responsive- neighborhood was very quiet and walkable, close to really great coffee places- Bad Rabbit - and restaurants- beach 25 minutes away. Cottage was very clean and towels super soft, bed comfortable- washing machine was a bonus- parking was well lit- highly recommend

Wonderful house, privacy and location, but a bit warm

The privacy, location, convenience of nearby stores and historic Charleston was very nice. It was a quiet, walkable neighborhood, so having a car was not necessary if you wanted to see the local shops and restaurants. The only complaint was that the bedroom on the upstairs floor got quite warm during the day, and the AC couldn't keep up. The ground floor was very cool and the air well circulated, but the upstairs gets several degrees warmer during the summer and can feel stuffy in the summer humidity and heat.

Location was perfect!

Location was perfect, super walkable. Fuel Cantina and Holey City Bagels were conveniently close-by. Food was great everywhere we visited. Downtown Charleston including all attractions were within walking distance for us (could be a bit long for others who arenā€™t walkers)ā€¦it was a beautiful, pleasant walk to and from. Charleston City Market, The Lost History of Black Charleston walking tour led by historian and educator Damon Fordham, and Folly Beach were among my favorite experiences. My friend enjoyed the wine complimentary of the Vrbo, which was a nice way to cap off our wonderful stay in Charleston. We both thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning. Oh and the mattress was super comfortable. We slept well.

Cute cottage

Be careful of the kitchen door it opens by itself. Needs a deadbolt. Also there is no bathroom upstairs and no way to turn the stairway light off or on from upstairs. Otherwise very clean.

The place was clean and comfortable. However, the price I paid was the same as a 2 bedroom, ocean front condo on Isle of Palms the last time we were here. I will stay there if and when I come back. Love Charleston!!!

Cute, cozy cottage

This property is a cute, cozy cottage in a walkable neighborhood with a few breakfast options, restaurants/bars, and shops on King Street. Off-street parking was a great bonus! For a shorter stay, the cottage was just what we needed and had lots of charm. The bed was so comfortable! The layout was fine for us; however, some may not like that the bathroom is so separate from the bedroom (downstairs then up two steps and through the kitchen) for bathroom trips in the middle of the night. Check-in and check-out were easy with great communication from owners.

Relaxing Getaway

My furbaby and I enjoyed several days just relaxing. Walking distance to coffee and pastries in the morning and conveniently located everywhere else we wanted to go. Very clean and cozy!

Comfortable bed!

Stayed here for two nights for a quick birthday trip. Just as advertised. We used the place basically to shower and sleep. But was very clean. Bed was very comfortable upstairs. Less than 10 minutes to King, East Bay. Would recommend.

My daughter and I went down to Charleston to look at the college and do some shopping. Our hotel was terrible so we found this charming place. It was perfect for what we needed.

Short of expectations

I want to begin by saying the property manager for this unit is fantastic. He gets 5 stars for communication and addressing our issues. When the toilet wouldnā€™t flush he had someone there to fix it in a timely manner. The property, on the other hand, was disappointing. The smell of disinfectant upon entry was overwhelming and never went away. The building is very old and sits on a busy road which makes it difficult to enter and leave the property. It also is not walking distance to Kings Street as suggested.

Great Location

A cute little place, big enough for 2, close enough to walk or ride a bicycle to see the sights but far enough away to avoid the noise and traffic. Would definitely stay here again.
