"Staff were impeccable. Food excellent.
Whole standard of the place was top class. Just a few minor points to note & could be improved - bedroom window could not be opened to let in fresh air & badly needed dusting. Not enough electrical sockets & could have been better positioned close to mirror for make up, hair etc. Other than that, it was a beautiful atmospheric and classy hotel and full of character. "

"The setting is beautiful and the staff amazing. We took our 2 Spaniels with us and stayed in a dog friendly suite. Room was huge and surprisingly warm considering it was a converted Castle. Breakfast in the morning was decent and you are within 25 mins of York. All in all a great trip and we will 100% stay here again. "

"It is a very lovely and charming hotel! The bed is very comfortable and warm. The service was great and we were allowed to make adjustments on the menu during our breakfast. Plus, it is a short walk from the Brontë Parsonage Museum. The only downside is the ceiling in the bathroom which is very low and also having to carry our luggage throughout the stairs. But I guess this happens all over England. Nonetheless, I recommend it! "

"I was kept fully informed of the check-in procedure (there si no desk), room information and even warnings about local road closures by email from Karen.
The room was marvellous; clean, spacious and with a very shiny bathroom. The bed was the best I've slept in for ages and the quiet made for an excellent night's sleep. A lovely touch was the porridge pot and pain au chocolat left out for breakfast.
The setting is spectacular; high above Sowerby Bridge with stunning views across the valley. "
