1930's Uptown House

Looking for a cozy little getaway? The Uptown House is the perfect place for you! Challis is a great starting point to explore the many sites of the Salmon Challis NF, fish the Salmon River, or simply enjoy laid back mountain living.

Located at the upper end of Main Street, this 1930’s store front has been converted to a unique getaway. This special place is close to local restaurants and bars and within minutes of groceries, gas and shopping making it easy to plan your visit.

The Uptown House is a spacious one bedroom, one bath cottage with a full kitchen including a full size refrigerator, stove, microwave and plenty of cabinet space. Stay connected with high-speed fiber optic Wi-Fi internet and a 43-inch TV with an abundance of channels to watch after a long day adventuring in the mountains around Challis.

You will have access to the entire house and backyard garden. Parking in on Main Street in front of the house. The house is equipped with a smart lock system that allows for self-check in. Prior to your stay you will receive your unique 4 digit entry code.

Most houses in Challis do not have AC and this old house is no exception. The good news is that we typically don’t need it as there are only a few weeks out of the year that are hot enough and with nighttime temps in the upper 50’s and low 60’s opening the windows at night will cool the house off. We have fans in the house that help to circulate the air.

The house is located uptown and if you are staying during any major event there is the possibility of noise, otherwise Challis is pretty quiet.
