Tolle Unterkunft mitten in der Normandie
Das kleine Appartement ist sehr ruhig gelegen, rund herum gibt es viel Natur. Die nahe gelegene Abtei ist sehr sehenswert. Für Gäste die es sehr ruhig mögen, ist das die ideale Unterkunft. Die Gastgeberin ist sehr aufgeschlossen und warmherzig und hat sich immer gut um alles gekümmert. Das in der Ferienwohnung befindliche Schild "Enter as strangers - leave as friends" trifft voll zu. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder hinfahren!

This gitte is a little gem full of love and care. My friend and I came to Cerisy la Foret for the concert of Luc Arbogast. But we got more than we bargained for. The gitte of Noreen is in walking distance of the Abbey and the centre of the village with a pub and a bakery. Port au Besson, chateau Balleroy all worthwhile a visit. As a guest of Noreen everything is taken care for. Lots of places to sit round the house and enjoy the beautifull garden. This is rural life at its best! Thank you, and your cats, very much for the best stay in Normandie you could ever whish for.

Perfect hideaway
Noreen's gîte is een super romantische plek waar je kunt genieten van de rust en ruimte van het Franse platteland en tegelijkertijd een mooie uitvalsbasis om Normandië te verkennen. Bayeux, St.Lo en de landingsstranden zijn een half uurtje rijden. De gîte is knus en bevat alles wat je nodig hebt, zowel binnen als buiten is het heerlijk ontspannen. Enige aandachtspuntje: het bed slaapt heerlijk, maar als je langer bent dan 1.90 is het net iets te kort ;) Noreen is een gezellige gastvrouw, die er is als je haar nodig hebt. De twee katten maken het plaatje compleet! Kortom: aanrader!

Wundervoll
wir hatten wundervolle, erholsame Tage dort verbracht. Ruhe und Natur pur. Sehr zu empfehlen. Tolle Gastgeberin, sehr herzlich und super nett. von dort aus kann man die Umbgebung sehr gut erkunden und viele schöne Eindrücke sammeln. Sehr schöne Wohnung, mit toller Klimaanlage, alles wie beschrieben. Wir kommen gerne wieder und nochmals danke für die tolle Zeit.

Very clean and quiet
This was a perfect spot to do the DDay sites. We loved the tranquility of being in the countryside. Gite was very clean and had everything we needed. Noreen was very hospitable even providing a baguette, cheese, tomatoes and cider for our arrival.

Heerlijk!
Heerlijke vakantie gehad in deze gite. Alles is aanwezig en superschoon. De omgeving is prachtig en er heerst absolute rust, maar in de buurt zijn genoeg leuke plaatsjes te bezoeken. Noreen is heel gastvrij en hartelijk, de katten heel gezellig. Wij komen graag nog een keer terug!

Revisiting Normandy
Very light, airy and roomy property. Let down by the quaint assortment of crockery and cutlery. Only one saucepan had a lid. Needs more storage space in kitchen area. A bit further to the village than we expected. The butcher was on his annual holidays!

A most relaxing time
We have just had a really lovely two weeks in this relaxing little gite. Noreen is a great Lady who does everything she can to insure you have a memorable holiday. We did have a few issues but these were dealt with quickly and efficiently. Our one and only criticism is that the outside seating area could be made more comfortable with a bit of TLC. Otherwise we are more than happy to recommend this gite to everyone who wishes to get away from it all.

A really neat and beautiful place to stay in the Normandie region

Your stay was short, only 3 days, but being here for the 75th anniversary of Dday will have left you with good memories. Rustig gelegen woning. De eigenares is heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam
Kleine woning maar alles is aanwezig. Je kunt heerlijk in de tuin zitten. Als je thuiskomt wordt je door Samsam en Claude (de twee poezen) begroet. Enige waar wij moeite mee hadden was het smalle bed :) Toen we daar eenmaal aan gewend waren ging het beter.

An splendid gite. Over the years we have stayed in many holiday cottages in France and Italy and this is one of the best. Good facilities and in a very attractive and peaceful location. A particular strength is the number of outdoor spots by the cottage to sit or eat.Noreen is an good hostess leaves you to it but is on hand to help if needed. It is an attractive part of Normandy. Nearby Le Molay Liitry has decent shops, a Thursday market and a couple of restaurants. Bayeux and the surrounding area have much to offer - gardens,chateaux, the D day beaches and much more. We will go again if we are able.

Perfect hideaway for a couple, quiet, clean, comfortable. Good location for all D-Day activities.
A great gite, all on one level, with everything you could need provided. A large, airy, lounge/kitchen/diner with cooker, microwave, fridge and coffee machine. A large bedroom with modern en-suite shower room. Air conditioned too. It's all nicely decorated and very clean and comfortable. There is also a TV with English Freeview satellite and a dvd player. There are plenty of places to sit outside in the extensive grounds to chase sun or shade and the only noise is from the cows in the adjoining fields and the tolling of the nearby abbey bell. It's a perfect gite for a couple and gave us a very peaceful and relaxing break. Noreen the owner is there should you need her but otherwise let's you get on with your holiday. Bayeux and St Lo are about 20mins away, the nearest supermarket is c10mins away but the local village has a butcher, a baker and a small general store. The D-Day beaches are about 40mins away and the gite makes a good base to explore the region. It's one of the best gites we've used and is recommended.

Just perfect!
Noreeen was the ideal 'there but not there' hostess. She was always ready to advise or help, without being in any way obtrusive. The accommodation was very comfortable, clean and well-equipped. Consequently we greatly enjoyed our stay.

The accomodation was perfect, very nice and cosy, and there is all to have a very good stay, bedroom, kitchen, garden.. The countryside around and the view is marvellous, especially in the morning to have breakfast outside. The place is very practical to visit all the D-Day sites. Notably the Museum for Peace of Caen is absolutely to visit. And last but not least, Noreen is a perfect hostess and a very nice personn. To recommand absolutely.

Easter weekend in Cerisy-la-Forêt
My wife and I spent the Easter weekend and although the weather was poor we still had a wonderful time. Noreen is an excellent host and was always available when needed, providing advice and guidance on the local area as well as answering any questions we had about the Gite. For those who want to spend time enjoying this area and want a comfortable intimate Gite for 2 then you can't go far wrong. Will definitely recommend to friends and family!

Merci à Noreen et son accueil chaleureux typiquement british.Les deux chats nous ont couvert de câlins 😻Gîte très confortable et bien équipé.Chambre magnifique,salle de bain et cuisine fonctionnels.Le tout sans bruit de voiture car le gîte est au bout d'un chemin,juste la campagne et le hennissement du cheval le matin.Pas un bruit. On aurait juste aimé être prévenus à l'avance qu'il n'y avait pas la télé française mais anglaise.Prévoir d'emmener des DVD.Mais rien de grave.... Plages du débarquement à 30 minutes à peine. À refaire sans hésiter.

Wonderful stay
We were met at this very comfortable "home from home" gite by the English owner, who was so welcoming and eager to make our stay pleasurable. The setting is rural and the village is in a lovely area with plenty to see, good areas to walk and handy for the tourist areas of interest. We loved our stay here and would definitely return and recommend it. Thank you Noreen for a wonderful stay.

A PEACEFUL RETREAT
We had an excellent stay at this property and Noreen was there should any problem arise which was great. Mixed weather but we managed to barbecue 2 nights out of 6 which we enjoyed as we do at home. We would have liked opening windows in the bedroom as we did not want to leave the french doors open on an evening. Very comfortable with everything you need.Unfortunately the local boulangerie and charcuterie were closed for annual holidays but the cocci market came up trumps and we also bought some great wine from there. They even ordered some in specially for us to take home.An excellent week, thanks Noreen

Still amazing
This was our second holiday at this beautiful gite! Yet again an amazing break (thank you Noreen!) We came for a peaceful and tranquil break which we totally got. We did the beaches and the crematories a couple of years ago which was a very emotional visit for us both . We stayed two years ago and would have stayed last year but to due to unforeseen circumstances were unable to. We would highly recommend the gite if you want a relaxing break (if you want nightlife and lots of bars it's not for you!). It was fab seeing Sem Sem and Claude again and I know Geoff really looked forward to seeing the cattle running around the field. We are now planning our third, fourth and fifth visit over the coming months and years. This is a place we really look forward to visiting time after time.

Impeccable de tous les points de vue.
Chez Noreen, le motto est juste: vous y allez comme des inconnus, vous partirez en amis. Le gîte est vraiment charmant, dans un joli village, au calme. Noreen est une hôtesse parfaite, à la fois réactive à toutes nos demandes et en même temps d'une grande discrétion. La location est très bien placée pour faire des sorties vers les plages du Débarquement ou les autres très jolies villes de la côte. C'est une région à explorer à partir de Cerisy-la-Forêt, sans hésiter!

Comfortable Gîte at a quiet, relaxing property
Selected this property for a one week stay in Normandy based on location and amenities. It is about 20-25 minutes to Bayeux or Saint-Lô by car. Booking was easy and on site owner Noreen very responsive. The gîte is a converted farmhouse and has been renovated to a very nice comfortable standard. The place was spotlessly clean upon arrival and bottle of local cider was provided. The kitchen has all of the essentials including microwave, kettle, coffee maker, fridge with a small freezer compartment, etc. A few highlights/essentials: Parking--in a rural setting and parking is no problem. Water-very adequate water pressure for shower and plenty of hot water too. Internet: Wifi signal excellent in main room. Speed and stability supported streaming without any issues. A/C: it is the proper type--the mini-split wall mounted system with a remote control. Almost silent and works quite well. One note--the unit is in the kitchen/sitting room so one must leave bedroom door open in order to cool that space, but it does work fine. Bedroom: Good size with a wardrobe and plenty of clothes hangers. Towels were provided and changed out mid week. Bed was a double (a bit small compared to what I am used to at home) but otherwise comfortable. Sitting area: comfortable couch, and TV with UK Freeview Owner: Noreen is very warm and friendly. She was available to assist and chat without ever being intrusive. She assembled a very organised "instruction manual" for guests. Bonus: Two marmalade cats Sem Sem and Claude were always on patrol outside. Very friendly! I would recommend this gîte to anyone looking to stay in this part of Normandy. It is a good location for accessing D-Day beaches and sites.

Prima verblijf
Gastvrij ontvangen. Het huisje staat in een klein dorp onder de rook van Bayeux. De Ierse eigenaresse had op het terrasje aan het huisje de stoelen met kussens klaar gezet, parasol uitgeklapt en koude Normandische appelcider klaar gezet. Wat een ontvangst! Het huisje was buitengewoon netjes en fris. De 2 huiskatten maakte het ook wel gezellig, ze horen bij het geheel. Mede dankzij het mooie weer en het fijne onderkomen hebben we een pracht weekend gehad in het mooie Calvados Normandie.

Nice and quiet
We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad bij Noreen. Het appartement is rustig gelegen op loopafstand van de beroemde abdij en op redelijke afstand van onder meer Bayeux en de invasiestranden. De accommodatie was zeer compleet, aan werkelijk alles was gedacht. Er was ook een welkomstpakketje, wat wij zeer waardeerden. Er was tijdens ons verblijf een probleem, maar dit werd adequaat opgelost. Kortom een heerlijk verblijf in het prachtige Normandië. We had a wonderful stay at Noreen. The apartment is quietly located within walking distance of the famous abbey and a reasonable distance from Bayeux and the invasion beaches. The accommodation was very complete, everything was thought of. There was also a welcome pack, which we greatly appreciated. There was a problem during our stay but this was adequately solved. Overall a wonderful stay in beautiful Normandy.
