Laura's Lookout at Palmetto Beach, Avenida Mangle, Caye Caulker, Belize.

Laura's Lookout is a beach front property located on South Caye Caulker, north of the islands airstrip. Conveniently located only a short 5 minute bike ride or a 10 minute walk to the downtown area, the house and it's surrounding area retain the unspoiled, quiet nature Caye Caulker is known for. The views cannot be beaten anywhere on the island.

The interior layout is perfect for either a family or group of friends, with two bedrooms with queen beds and a full bath downstairs and a more private suite upstairs, with two twin beds that convert into king bed if you would prefer, again with it's own full bath.

We have added two futons in the living room for groups of singles who would prefer not to share beds. Additionally, air conditioning is provided with their own separate controls in each room. The living area features an open floor plan that includes a modern kitchen with a full appliance range, a washing machine area for your use, a dining area and lounge area with flat screen TV; a movie library and wi-fi are included.

Without doubt the very best feature of the house is the full length, private front deck off the living area. Commanding unbelievable views of the sea and the second largest barrier reef in the world (560 mi) Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, it is truly breathtaking and not to be missed. It is only accessible through a door off the kitchen, ensuring privacy for all, with two Belizean woven hammocks for afternoon naps, and plentiful comfortable outdoor chairs.

As you leave the house down a short flight of stairs, you first encounter the 35 x 15 foot private outdoor pool, available only to our guests in our 4 homes, sunken into a wood deck that respects the palm trees that were there before and many chaises for sunbathing. Turning the corner to your right around the house, you encounter the man made beach area, jutting 50 feet into the sea, this provides another area in which to relax and enjoy the sun, there are a couple of palapas on the beach if you want to avoid the sun and corn hole as well as ladder toss to entertain you. Finally, just beyond the beach area, you come upon the 300 foot dock. With three separate entrances to the water below, there is room to dock your boat (if you have one!!), 6 pods extending outward for more room and a palapa at the end of the dock if you require shade. Covered with chaise lounges, you would be hard pressed to find a better place on Caye Caulker to just sit and relax, or watch the incredible sunsets.

Behind Laura's is a tranquil palm grove with BBQ facilities including picnic tables and a giant Jenga game. Paddle boards and kayaks are available for free, Beer can be bought at the front desk by the bottle, the bucket or a whole case. You can also rent bikes and golf carts at the front desk or book tours with anyone of the many tour operators on the island for fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving or sunset sailing cruises, our staff are there to help. Bikes and golf carts are a great way to tour about the island...a wonderful adventure for most any age! We have children's bikes, child carriers, and cribs upon request.

Laura'a Lookout at Palmetto Beach has been fully designed with safety and security in mind. There is protection on all first level windows, there is only one entrance to the house, accessible from the pool deck, away from public paths. Additionally, we have an on site, 24 hour security guard.
